    2 stances at once?

And Scouts. Don't forget the poor forgotten Scout. It also applies to Hunters, but I can't see too many of them taking advantage of it.

    Armor of Repulsion - Useless?

There are a few other considerations: You might be able to push the creature into a zone, a pit, etc., with the usual caveats about saving throws vs. forced movement. The creature may be trying to get past you to escape, to reach a strategic square, or to attack another party member. The...

Tell me about the essentials rogue

I know what you mean, but in the case of Skills at least, it is quite untrue. A Human or Eladrin Thief with a skill-granting multiclass feat can have *NINE* trained skills at level 3. I'm even enamored of the Jack of All Trades PP, which grants 3 more at level 16 AND a +2 bonus to all skills...

    D&D 4E Class-less 4E?

Skill Powers provide a good starting point for a classless design.

    D&D 4E Pathfinder's KINGMAKER conversion to 4e?

Did anyone else think you might be talking about this? Now THAT would be an interesting 4e conversion!

D&D 4E If 4e went in this direction...

For many characters, the coolest features or powers they will ever acquire in the course of an adventuring career comes from the paragon path -- but most characters never get that far, or expire shortly after reaching it.

D&D 4E If 4e went in this direction...

I like the concept too. It's also a way to allow an extra power-up for campaigns where it's appropriate, without the clunkiness of the gestalt concept.

    Hasbro selling d&d to piazo

The way things are going, I'm pretty sure it will end up with Rupert Murdoch.

Robert J. Schwalb Blog Discussion; Feats: Do We need them?

I disagree. I love feats like Roll With It, for example. You could make it a power, and that would be fine, but then you would need more power slots or it would just displace something else.

Robert J. Schwalb Blog Discussion; Feats: Do We need them?

Feats are awesome. The 4e implementation of feats is seriously flawed. My hope for 5e is that they refine the implementation of feats, strengthen the rules describing how skills can be used in combat, shift the focus from class powers to skill powers, increase the number of at-will and...

Are the new Essentials Classes too powerful?

My own Knight (started at level 12 and abandoned at level 16) never had much problem with forced movement, but was often left without useful options by flying opponents, skirmishers who moved away during the Knight's own turn, and grabby creatures and environmental effects that kept her stuck in...

    On shfting and jumping

Actually, I was asking about whether you could shift while Climbing or Swimming with a Climb speed or Swim speed.

    On shfting and jumping

What if you have a Climb or Swim speed? (The standard Scout paragon path gives both at level 16, so it may come up more often now.)

Isolate and Kill vs. Neuter and Ignore: Which Control tactic do you prefer?

I would put that in the category of Neuter and Ignore, but it has become obvious that not everyone (i.e. no one) agrees with my suggested terminology... The main reason I did not list Slow or Immobilize in "neutering" techniques is that they only have a neutering effect if the creature is...

Herores of the Fallen Lands - Are Slayers underpowered?

Sadly, it's an Encounter power too. The thing I dread most is being in a bind throughout an entire encounter, i.e. having the same condition applied over and over with no means of escape, so I don't want to be limited in my ability to apply the solution. At-wills rule.

Herores of the Fallen Lands - Are Slayers underpowered?

I guess you are right. But I could see some DMs disallowing it anyway.
