Are Your Games Rated G, PG, R, X, etc.?

According to these standards, my games would be PG-13, although many R-rated, mainly due to an excessive amount of gore, violence and a heavy religious content. "And remember what the M.P.A.A. says: graphic violence is OK, as long as nobody says any naughty words!" (c) South Park: Bigger...

First Level Adventures Are The Hardest to Write

Yeah, I've checked that out too. Death in Freeport is darn good, although the idea of serpentine cultist undoubtedly hearkens back to Lovecraft, Howard, and their imitators (which is not a bad thing, BTW) :). 2 Wraith Form Although your pet peeve with low-level modules seems to be somewhat...

First Level Adventures Are The Hardest to Write

Although it may sound weird, adventures for 1st-level characters are notoriously difficult to create. I mean *original* adventures. For this purpose, "original" signifies "one that does not feature kobolds, goblins, brigands, monstrous centipedes, rats, skeletons, zombies, and an ogre as a boss...

How long have you been with your gaming group?

I've started a campaign with a new group only two weeks ago. However, I've known all the group's members for 2 years, so that was my answer.

What is the most despised race?

Drow are politically incorrect, that's why they are despised and ridiculed. I've also voted Drow, and I was surprised that most have chosen Gnomes (who I really like) and ignored the Warforge (who still have a future of humiliation ahead of them).

Looking for an OGC mummy template

Voadam, alas, your link doesn't seem to work. If you e-mailed me the template (see my address above), I'd be very grateful.

Looking for an OGC mummy template

Thank you both very much! And Garnfellow, could you e-mail me your real name (to be included in the credits) to lizardfolk*at*gmail*dot*com?

Looking for an OGC mummy template

I'm looking for a template that allows to make variant mummies AND is OGC. Therefore, the Mummified Creature template from Savage Species is out :). Any feedback is greatly appreciated, and volunteers will get special credit in a yet-to-be-published product ;).

ROUND 2: Choose the best d20 mass combat system

Chess has the best mass combat system ever. Period.

What are the differences between 1e and 2e?

As I recall, the ability to turn paladins WAS retained in 2E, but it was made more difficult and discussed in an obscure, small-print paragraph so almost no one remembered this rule :).

Orcs: First Blood: A New Definition of Badness.

2 KenM: My edition of the book contained all three parts in one volume, I had a lot of free time and nothing else to read within immediate reach. Boredom and idleness can make you read almost anything :). 2 drnuncheon: By "orcs-as-good-guys", I mean that the author really sympathises with what...

Orcs: First Blood: A New Definition of Badness.

I've read the Orcs trilogy by Stan Nicholls and I must say this dog has set new standards of extremely uncreative writing erroneously packaged and sold as "fantasy". The most irritating elements of this opus are: -The cheesiest EVER portrayal of Christianity in a fantasy book. And yes, citing...

Two old, obscure monsters converted: Deermen and Darkdancers

The Deerman (shouldn't you call it Deerfolk for politically correct reasons? ;)) look extremely cool. They are surely inspired by some of the darkest legends of the Horned God of the Forest... 8-E The Darkdancer is really strange. You really should have made it incorporeal, and give some extra...

Fritz Leiber's Lankhmar: Whats your favorite story?

Perhaps, but the Mouser's state is quite close to being "entombed in a state of suspended animation far beneath the surface of the earth", as written in the spell description. Although he could move, think, speak, etc., he was unable to escape alone. I think this episode had at least some...

The village, Yes, it really is that bad

And horribly misunderestimated by the general audience, that's for sure.

Fritz Leiber's Lankhmar: Whats your favorite story?

It may appear crappy, but we own the imprisonment spell in D&D to that story :).

    DR as miss chance

This system involves a lot of really boring math that slows the game down. Deletion is much harder to do than substraction and is twice more so than addition. Unless you are willing to bring a calculator to your game, I wouldn't recommend it.

The village, Yes, it really is that bad

Quite a controversy here, but, alas, it's over. I'd say that The Village ranks as one of my favorite films of all time. And Shyamalan is definitrly one the most talented directors of modern American cinema. Just my 2 kopeks.

Fritz Leiber's Lankhmar: Whats your favorite story?

2 jester47: Thank you for reminding :). I've checked, the story about Simorgia is actually Bleak Shore .

    Leveling speed

I'd say that it's more slow than fast, but overall, there's nothing wrong with the system.
