    "Epic" progression after 6th level

"If a barbarian already has uncanny dodge from a different class, he automatically gains improved uncanny dodge instead." "If a rogue already has uncanny dodge from a different class she automatically gains improved uncanny dodge instead." ...as listed in the SRD, for both classes.

What do you think D&D is missing?

I *love* IH villain classes. IMO, the IH books are worth considering just for those, as they're close enough to D&D rules to be dropped in with little problem, and it takes a couple minutes to use them to make a good NPC.

Star Wars: Force Unleashed (Saga Edition)

My apologies for this slight derailment, but I've read references to the Expanded Universe several times, and I'm curious: is there a sourcebook or something of that nature available anyplace that covers this stuff, or is it more something thats only detailed in the various novels?

Action, Character, Story or World Oriented Campaigns?

Couldn't agree more. My most recent campaign, I've had my PCs create a brief backstory, as well as some info about the town they come from (all the PCs come from a fairly small region). I'm using the information to create the cities in the region and (most of) the plot hooks they'll be getting...

DMs how do you keep your NPCs/Creatures organized

I usually create generic physical descriptions and personalities, alongside a list of names, and just grab a pair to match up when I need an NPC. Sometimes a site will have an NPCs name built in ("I'll head over to Rothgar's armory" for example), but its not like its difficult to grab a name...

    Familiar Replacement

Draconomicon has a feat that lets you take a Wyrmling dragon as a familiar... would that not work?

PotC: At World's End (reactions, spoilers!)

I expected Elizabeth to commit suicide, so Will could do his Davey Jones impersonation. "Do ye fear death?"

PotC: At World's End (reactions, spoilers!)

Oddly it seems to have been removed since I saw it, but the Wikipedia synopsis of the movie had this little tidbit at the end. The "after the credits" scene has more to it then is immediately obvious (*SPOILER*): Hopefully the DVD will have all this explained when they include said cut scene.

    Permanent injury idea

It really depends on your group, and on the DM. I know I've had loads of players inquire abut a game I'm running and one of the first things out of their mouth is, "Are you allowing flaws?" Most take something that'd be of no hindrance to the PC they're designing, then take what amounts to a...

    Permanent injury idea

So, almost dying grants you a feat on top of a flaw? Wow, where do I sign up for this near death experience? I'm not sure this would work, largely because it almost makes near-death scenarios something you WANT to happen. If thats what you're shooting for, go for it.

taking 10 - exactly what skills and skill uses are covered?

I wouldn't allow take 10 on Hide/Move Silent simply because while there may be no danger when you start, the whole idea of hiding and sneaking is to avoid danger, which implies that they're never in a position to take 10. About the furthest I'd go on that is, I've occasionally allowed PCs an...

The problem of keeping magic items scarce...

I'll second Iron Heroes, its a GREAT system if you're wanting to make magic items feel special again.

    Wolfgang Baur's "Kobold Quarterly" 'zine

My apologizes if this is slightly off-topic, I promise its only *slightly*: I'm intrigued by the Open Design being done on the site, but paying $75 site-unseen is a bit steep. If I were to pay the standard $30 donation and decided I'm willing to shell out the extra $45 to upgrade to patron...

What is wrong with Epic Material?

The system has been discussed elsewhere, but I figured I'd toss it out there: you might consider replacing Epic Spellcasting with the True Sorcery system. Its something I've considered should I ever run a more standard D&D game again (right now I'm setting up an IH game, using TS as its magic...

What is wrong with Epic Material?

Little surprised Power of Faerun hasn't been mentioned here at all. Sure its designed with FR in mind, but the whole book deals specifically with using Leadership/Epic Leadership in order to found empires, forge armies, become a spiritual leader, etc.
