    [PCGen] Character Sheets

Hold on there, partner... most tokens have *NOT* changed. ;) Only a few have... like the Check related ones. They used to be |FORTITUDE.label| but now that you can specify any number of checks there are two ways to get them token-wise: |CHECK.FORTITUDE.TOTAL| and |CHECK.0.TOTAL|. This means...

Gamers Opinion of PCGen (No Rants)

Re: I want to like PCGen.... Wow - you have a much better machine than I do! What exactly is slow? Are there specific things, or do you just mean in general? We keep optimizing the code, but looking at specific places where you notice slowness is also helpful. Hm - I have a bachelor's in...

Gamers Opinion of PCGen (No Rants)

There's a bug with the Lst Converter in 3.1.0, so don't use it. It's been corrected for our next release. Weve thought about making it so if you add +2 to an item, it automatically adds Masterwork in... we've just been a bit pre-occupied lately. :)

    Publishers Opinion Of PCGen

True, the publishers can't ask us to pull their OGC, but we will if they ask us to. For at least the last year we've only included material we had permission for - so it's been standard practice that we ask for permission before even beginning work on converting books. The one exception to...

    Publishers Opinion Of PCGen

I consider myself a good speller, but I know I got at least a couple of words wrong in my post... I don't expect anyone to hire an editor to check their posts. Forums are held to the same scrutiny that a conversation is, not literature! BTW - I've found Clark's comments to be helpful in our...

    Publishers Opinion Of PCGen

Sigh - I have so much trouble posting here because I type long messages and then when I hit reply it says I'm not logged in (even though I am!) and I lose my eloquent message. Combine that with the incredible lack of freetime that I have, and you get why I don't post here often. Without...

PCGen and Wizards of the Coast Stage Talks At GenCon!

Why take PCGen to OGL/D20 compliance Mr. Valterra was very reasonable - he told us that in order to use the SRD material we need to be OGL compliant. PCGen has always been very flexible, so we've been slowly removing all hard-coding of formulas/bonii/etc. out and moving them to the data files...

    How Is There Still PCGen?

Copyrights Here is a website that I continually check back on whenever I need to refresh myself on copyrights. http://www.templetons.com/brad/copymyths.html You do not need to vigorously defend copyrights - you need to vigorously defend trademarks. We defend trademarks in PCGen by clearly...

    How Is There Still PCGen?

PCGen's Philosophy Put simply, we are not OGL or d20 compliant, so the requirements for those licenses are completely irrelevant. We have been taking steps toward that direction which is why we contact all the publishers for the permission - particularly PI permission for names of items -...

    [PCGEN] Psionics Questions

Responses on our message board are typically fairly fast, and you can set your preference to "Web Only" so your emailbox doesn't get swamped. That way you can check on your post and see what replies there are to it. Just doing a search on "powerpoints" in the 2.6.6 release templates I get 6 -...

[OT] Master Tools Early 2002? Are we there yet?

Re: PCGen-tastic Heh - thanks! I like to read the threads here just to see what non-PCGen related software chatter is going on, and your comments made me fall out of my chair laughing. I like your enthusiasm! :) PCGen has been a blast to work on and I'm glad many people have enjoyed it (and...
