    Teleportation and prone

From the WotC Rules board FAQ (if desired): Can you Teleportation from the prone position to an upright position? Teleportation does not remove the prone condition. However your DM might allow you to teleport into the air above the ground in order to use acrobatics to land on your feet...

    Can you teleport vertically?

For reference (if desired), from the WotC Rules board FAQ: Can you teleport someone into the air? Strictly by the current rules, you can teleport someone vertically and there is no saving throw (discussed here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here). However, some...

    Skill Challenges

In DMG2 (and several articles) the designers recommend not even saying it is a skill challenge... just roleplay it out, using the Skill Challenge framework as more of a guideline. Some familiarity with the SC mechanics is useful here (so you don't inadvertently hose your players when they are...

Multiple Prone Characters in the Same Space?

Agreed. For reference purposes, PHB p.283 semantically denotes a singular ally: "You can end your movement in an ally’s square only if the ally is prone." By strict RAW, you can end your movement in a square with one prone ally, but not necessarily two. Previously discussed here.

    Designing Elric of Melnibone

I recall that the "Thrall of Blackrazor" (from the Unhallowed DDM statcard) was effectively 3e's version of Elric. Also, the original Deities & Demigods actually had AD&D 1e stats for Elric: S:6(15) I: 18 W:17 D:17 C:3(15) CH: 18 10th level cleric/5th level druid/15th level fighter/19th level...

    The Power of Friendship!

Interesting. The 3.5 rules specifically said "You can’t take 10 on a skill check to aid another", but I cannot find anything similar in 4e.

    Knockout on a Ghost?

Speaking of movies: The classic Harryhausen skeleton fight from Jason and the Argonauts showed skeletons being stunned and temporarily knocked unconscious throughout the battle.

    Any Thurderspire (H2) aides?

Here's a zip with the aids I personally found useful for Thunderspire Labyrinth.

    Tact-Tiles: The End

Yes: clear and printed on both sides would be perfection. I would certainly buy that, once it was released on pdf.

Teleportation / Fey Step in three dimensions

I don't find that conclusion warranted to begin with, but the rules (DMG p.48) do say: "It is possible that a creature far above the ground can spend more than a round falling to the ground."

    Gelatinous Cube issues

Edit: nevermind. Already answered. My browser evidently did not load the complete thread on the first go. I do not see that ability in the MM. The Cube's engulf ability involves attacking a target from an adjacent space, then (on a hit) pulling the target into its own space.

D&D 4E Push the Envelope: Use 4e to make the broadest range of archetypes!

Using the word 'katana' on the WotC boards has been known to incite long flame wars. For awhile, discussing the katana there was banned. There are evidently rabid katana fans, and rabid katana-fan haters.

D&D 4E Push the Envelope: Use 4e to make the broadest range of archetypes!

I'll be making a gnome artificer for my first 4e character. He'll essentially be a wizard, but with a powered exoskeleton (simulated by using a construct as a 'mount').

Long jump is higher than High jump

... or merely an average combatant in a Chinese fantasy flick.

Long jump is higher than High jump

Your previous post said: "some people want to jump up without going more than 1 foot forward. Having rules for both options is an excellent and valuable thing." However, jumping without going forward wasn't really the crux of the issue (as the issue was equally applicable to running high jumps)...

    Making your own power cards

I had similar thoughts. Still, I'd love to see more services like this. Maybe you could present it as (say) $5 for time/materials, and $5 for shipping/handling. The card designs themselves are freely available for anyone that wishes to do it themselves (and you could even provide links to...

Long jump is higher than High jump

That's not an unreasonable way to view the discrepancy. Well, technically it would need to be 4' + (your height/3) above you.

Long jump is higher than High jump

Er... I think you missed the point, but please feel free to view the discussion as only pertaining to running long jumps being higher than running high jumps.

Long jump is higher than High jump

The rules for High Jump say: "Make an Athletics check and divide your check result by 10 (round down). This is the number of feet you can leap up." While the rules for Long Jump say: "divide your check result by 10 (don’t round the result). This is the number of squares you can leap" "The...
