Games you want to play but haven't

Mine... 1. FASA's Star Trek the Roleplaying Game. Only ever rolled up some Klingon PCs, never played, but did buy too many of the starship minis. 2. MERP. I did mine the modules for AD&D. 3. GURPS Conan or MGP Conan. 4. Thieves World d20. 5. Dragonquest (SPI/TSR). Played a few sessions, but...

Ultimate Magus, Arcane Hierophant, or Cerbromancer?

All the dual casting PrCs are fun to me. I played an AH, but used the UA variant where you dropped wildshape for a wisdom bonus to AC. Wasn't the most powerful build ever. The animal companion/familiar was a horse. My favorite of all time is Duskblade 1/Wizard 5/Ur-Priest 2/Mystic...

    help with gish build

Too bad UA is not one of the books. I would go with Battle Sorcerer if it was. That said, if the DM was limiting the books allowed to the books he has, the Battle Sorcerer is in the SRD and he would have access to it. Thanks, Rich

    Assassins Evil?

So true. I bet we could find several old threads here that discuss how the wizard makes a better assassin than the assassin does.

    Problem Player Woes

You sit down with him. Explain that his play is disrupting the group. Tell him what he needs to change. If he doesn't change, boot him face to face. For the initial meeting and probable eventual boot, do it alone. He may be annoying but you don't need to do any of this in front of others.

    Assassins Evil?

If I knew that many I'd be saying that too! :-) Thanks.

    Problem Player Woes

Took guts to boot him, I would have done the deed face to face at the next game session instead of telling his wife.

    Assassins Evil?

Yes, have to spread some xps around first.

    Assassins Evil?

It could have been that way in the 1970s, but I know people who successfully completed the Q Course in the mid 1980s and none of them would be lumped into "dangerous to themselves or others" psych category. That said, I never took part in any psych evaluation of people for their probable...

    Assassins Evil?

I know Hollywood likes to portray the sniper that way, but I don't put much stock in most of the post-Vietnam war Hollywood visions of the military. On top of that, none of those descriptions equal evil. Those could be used to describe a successful athlete. By the nature of the job/mission...

    Assassins Evil?

Nah, neither works. The folks in any modern western military are neither more good or less good than the general population. And within the military there is no distinction as to more good or less good based upon your military skills or designation.

Animate Dead on Multiple Spell Lists

I'm with Danny on this one. I'll put my thinking cap on and see if I can't come up with an alternate class feature or feat that would help in this situation. Thanks, Rich

    Do you pull the chain?

The key is "You’ve finished off your objective in this dungeon". You are done with that dungeon. Live and decide what your next quest will be. But then the that little voice says, "maybe we'll get some really cool stuff if we pull that chain". Open the portable hole, command your undead...

    All-in-one games and cross-overs

Thanks. The PCs place of origin was my home brew and it wasn't based on any place or specific time. Mixed bunch is a good description as I allowed them to roll up any 3E character they wanted. Thanks again, Rich

    All-in-one games and cross-overs

I ran a game where the PCs discovered a room of portals to different times and places. As part of their adventures they found crystal rods of different materials that when placed in slots in a bricked up door way would open the portal. They were able to go to: 1. Tatooine (and beyond if they...

It doesn't get much worse than this!

Taggart! I never missed that show when I lived in the UK. I remember asking my wife, "who are the Poliss?" XPs coming right up for that bit of nostalgia.
