help with gish build

parinho7

First Post
a friend asked me to help him make a 10 level gish character.
his dm allows: ph, ph2, complete series (except complete divine), and dmg ONLY
he also allowed the human paragon class

i am thinking of a paladin(2)/paragon(3)/sorcerer(1)/spellsword(1)/abjurant champion(3)
or paladin(2)/sorcerer(4)/spellsword(1)/abjCh(3) and continue as abj ch and eldrich knight

wich do you think is better? any other ideas?
feats/spells?

EDIT:
he decided on
fighter(1)/wizard(2)/paragon(3)/spellsword(1)/abjCh(3)

any ideas for spells, feats, acfs?
thanks in advance

also 30000 gp and 28 points for abilities

here is the build:

human paragon(3)/conjurer(2)/fighter(1)/spellsword(1)/abjurant champion(3)

str 10, dex 16, con 16, int 18, wis 8, cha 8

feats: proficiency (spiked chain), weapon finesse, combat casting (for abjCh), able learner (not from the mentioned books but dm allows it)

i need one fighter bonus feat and 2 more, any suggestions?

equipment: mithral chain shirt, gloves of dexterity +2, ring of protection +2, +1 spell storing shock spiked chain

6725 gp left

and please suggest some spells, i am thinking of rays because of the high bab

ok...not the most popular thread here:p but anyway
i am trying to convince him take focused specialist? what do you think?

Personally, I prefer to go to the Duskblade for any kind of Fighter/Mage build, especially if he's looking for raw damage spells.

If you're using a Spiked Chain, you'd be remiss not to take the Expertise->Improved Trip chain, and add in Combat Reflexes.

You trip an opponent, he falls, you move back 5 feet. He gets up, AoO. He moves towards you, AoO... and trip him. Rinse and repeat. Add in the Duskblade "touch spell channeled into melee attack" ability and this guy is pumping out sick amounts of damage.

As for your proposed build, what are you trying to accomplish with it?

high bab, and high caster level. at level 10 he has bab 8 and caster level 8. i added the human paragon because the dm allowed able learner and my friend wanted to have some social skills maxed and i thought that i was a good way to have bluff, sense motive and some other skills maxed since he doesn't get them from other classes. he reaches an ac of 29 with is by far the highest at his current party and for damage he get a +1 spell storing shock spiked chain and he'll also cast blade of blood.

i'll tell him about the AoO trick, he has 2 feats (practiced spellcaster and weaon focus)that could be changed to take expertise and trip, thanks for the reply.

what do you think about focused specialist acf?

Too bad UA is not one of the books. I would go with Battle Sorcerer if it was. That said, if the DM was limiting the books allowed to the books he has, the Battle Sorcerer is in the SRD and he would have access to it.

Thanks,
Rich
