    How many feats are there?

Fifth Edition is a much simpler version of D&D. It does allow an option for expanding the game via feats (if your group wants to), but the core mechanics don't have feats. It's new, is getting good reviews, and will probably be the "current" game for 6 more years or so. Although I'm a 3rd...

    How many feats are there?

I agree with gameprinter. You will get a lot more useful replies if you clarify which edition of the game you are concerned with.

    How many feats are there?

How could they be? The editions are built around different mechanical systems. Take Power Attack, a feat which functions off of Base Attack Bonus. Now try to port it over to 5th edition... which doesn't have Base Attack Bonus.

    How many feats are there?

WotC used to have a master feat list for all of 3rd edition. I have no idea if it is still up on their site or archives, however. There is a site or two which list all the third edition feats... but it isn't technically legal, and I don't know how much it would be frowned upon to mention it by...

Is it legal to Combine Feats?

Wrong. See below. You are completely missing the point of what the sidebar is trying to point out. A belt of giant strength doesn't stack with the bull's strength spell, because they both provide an enhancement bonus to strength. Mage Armor provides an armor bonus, so does plate armor (and...

Is it legal to Combine Feats?

That section has to do with NAMED bonuses. From that page: Do any of the bonuses granted from Weapon Focus, Power Attack, or Point Blank Shot use any of the named bonus types on page 21 of the DMG? No, they don't. They are UNNAMED bonuses. Now, check out the definition of "bonus" from the...

Is it legal to Combine Feats?

You're right, I should have. My apologies. I've been the player I described, though. Playing under a DM that didn't understand the game, and it was... not a fun experience. The experience has left me hyper-reactive to similar-appearing situations. An ingrained visceral response, if you...

Is it legal to Combine Feats?

Just so everyone is on the same page, the bolded portion is only true in 3.5. That caveat did not exist in 3.0... which is when that trick was created. It wasn't illegal "creative BS" at the time it was discovered and used. As I said I would do, here are a list of monsters that are...

Is it legal to Combine Feats?

The explicit example of using two feats together is in the Maximize Spell feat. From the SRD: There are several monsters printed in the MM3 (and later 3.5 books) that have Power Attack pre-applied to the monsters' attack routines. I'm sure some of them also have Weapon Focus or other feats...

Give me some build idea for Scarlet Brotherhood villains

Invisible Fist alternate class feature from Exemplars of Evil. Here is where I built some Poison Dusk Lizardfolk Rogue/Monks using it: http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?topic=14011.msg251017#msg251017 Throw on Ascetic Rogue and make them more Rogue than Monk. It should be very ninja-esque.

The older I get, the more I appreciate 3.0

Regardless of what Monte Cook may have written 12 years ago, the DMG errata addresses the subject: Basically, the listed caster level for each item is just the caster level for the effects of the item that is randomly generated. It is not a pre-req, and any item made by the PC's will have its...

    Eldritch Disciple/Hellfire Warlock

The whole chunk for that attack is Hellfire damage. If his Eldritch Blast is normally 5d6, and his Hellfire Blast is +4d6, then when he uses it, he does 9d6 Hellfire damage. All of it is Hellfire, I think. This is an oddity in the rules, because Hellfire Blast isn't classified as an Eldritch...

Quick question about a weapon property

Ranes is correct. What you are describing is the 3.0 version of Wounding. The 3.5 version of wounding is basically the Marrow-crushing property from the Book of Vile Darkness (3.0)

The older I get, the more I appreciate 3.0

Most of the changes had to do with the core spells. Bull's Strength, et al; Heal and Harm, Haste; Holy Word, et al. Condensing the skill list and altering the Ranger were the other big items, as well as adding feats to Core that had previously been published in the 3.0 splat books, as well as...

    D&D 3E/3.5 3.5e : Mirror Image and Concealment

Here is the text of a post someone compiled over at GitP concerning Mirror Image and what answers can actually be deduced from the spell itself, and the FAQ. Take it for what it's worth.

Monsters of Faerun: Half-Fiend Draegloth: Drow Abilities??

Monsters of Faerun. But SS's publishing date is Oct 2004, so neither CoR (2005) nor DotU (2007) had been published yet.

Monsters of Faerun: Half-Fiend Draegloth: Drow Abilities??

A search of the PDF displays no instances of 'draegloth' anywhere in EttDwP. Searching all my files, the only PDF's that have the word draegloth in it are: Drow of the Underdark Monsters of Faerun City of the Spider Queen Lords of Darkness Magic of Faerun Champions of Ruin Shining South I...

Monsters of Faerun: Half-Fiend Draegloth: Drow Abilities??

There are two more recent printings of Draegloth. Champions of Ruin has them as a playable race with a Savage Species-style racial class (though it does mess up and list them as having d10 hit dice, which is wrong; outsiders have d8 hit dice). Drow of the Underdark also has a stat block for...

10 more creatures added to the CC

Did the Creature Catalog crash and burn? I haven't been able to load it for over two weeks now. I've tried from multiple computers.

    Colossal Troll

As far as countering invisibility, give it the Primordial Giant template from Secrets of Xen'drik. At will Invisibility Purge with a CL equal to its HD. For a massive troll in my Norse-themed game, I just stuck the Half-Troll template, the Primordial Giant Template, and the Mineral Warrior...
