    Take that Vance!

You're right about the possibility of it taking away from normal combat spells. But I would almost it rather. Much like 1E & 2E clerics stocking up on healing, I've seen (in nearly 20 years of gaming) wizards stocking up fireballs, magic missile, etc, to that they have some roll in combat...

    Take that Vance!

I have vague memories of numerous cartoons or films where wizards fling about bursts of energy (fire, electricity, whatever) as part of combat, with the frequncy of an archer. That wasn't possible in D&D, unless you were of high level or had very few combat scenes. It's not quite my style of...

Ideas for Creative Casting? Balanced Magic System?

I haven't had the opportunity to try in in 3E, but for a number of years I dropped the "memorization" bit in game terms. Spellcasters could still cast the same number of spells each day, but they could decide what to cast on the fly. If you needed Feather Fall, you cast it. That simple. Some...

Campaign Email List & Hosting Suggestions?

I'm on an email list for a long-running campaign (12+ years!). Right now the list is running through Yahoo Groups, but their ads are a pain and the space for files is limited. Any suggestions on where to find a good, affordable listserver and webspace?
