D&D General Typical procedure after character death?

The extremely ugly cleric/wizard takes the "beautiful" parts of the body to make a flesh golem. It's how he gets his romantic dates without having to go to the old Roll a D12 inn of the Shady Lady.

D&D General Drama In Your Dungeons?

I have player characters romance each other and/or npcs. Sometimes with "constructs". Currently a dwarf cleric/wizard has created a flesh golem with selected parts from beauty pageant winners to be his love.

D&D General How long do you like your campaigns?

A campaign with a beginning, a middle and an ending.

D&D General The Appearance of Female Goblins

Some might say that goblins look like the creepy kids from NOS4A2.

D&D 5E NPC party competing with PCs

Not so much as a rival but rather as a group of "heroes" doing the side quests that the players do not. The players choose to investigate sightings of orcs while ignoring farmer Brown's plight with bandits. The bandits are then handled by the other group through narrative. This creates a "news"...

D&D General So what colour are your dwarfs and elfs?

Elves are bright and beautiful. (Pick a runway model) Elves have three ancient "clan" groups Light Grey and Dark. Light elves worship the stars they first saw when awakening in the world. Grey elves worship nature spirits. Dark elves worship whoever gives them power. Dwarves are beings of...

D&D 5E How many rounds do most of your combats last?

@Flamestrike What poundage is the bow the girl is using. Definitely not the same as a medieval war bow which is what the game is modeled on.

D&D General Is Healing Magic Painful?

Whether it is or is not, is determined by the source from which it is received. The goddess of comfort and cookies would likely include anesthesia. The bloody god of war I think would expect someone to suck it up and drive on with the mission.

D&D 5E How many rounds do most of your combats last?

Time in our game is different; we have 1 minute combat rounds, each round has six 10 second combat phases. There are two weapons tracks. Melee attacks per phase, ranged attacks per round. This was done to better simulate the rate of fire for missile weapons when compared to how many times a...

D&D 5E Looking for setting inspirations

My players are in an area based on the pyramids of Meroe https://www.theatlantic.com/photo/2015/05/the-forgotten-pyramids-of-meroe/392312/

    D&D 5E You encounter 20 orcs ...

There are alternatives to fighting. Perhaps the players could in someway encourage the orcs to fight one another over some issue? Remember LotR when the orcs fight over Frodo's shiny shirt.

D&D General Art that exemplifies D&D to you.

My players think they are sophisticated.

A generous use of The Dragon magazine articles.

D&D 5E Does your city have a cleric NPC and what can he cure?

The majority of priests and clerics spend their time collecting alms, tithes and creating illuminated manuscripts. The very few that can call upon the power of a god through prayer and ritual are seemingly living saints and are kept isolated from the masses.

D&D General Fantasy Byzantine Setting Brainstorming

For my current campaign I altered history. Julian the Apostate won and is Julian the Just and Fair. Constantinople is Julianopolis. Instead of Christianity, the Roman pantheon is followed.

D&D General What tone do you prefer for D&D?

A grimdark gritty realistic adventure. The first three choices combined is how my games are.

    D&D 5E Need ideas/help for succubus taking a soul

You could give the character ED until death or redemption.

D&D General How do you explain PC absences when a player has to miss a session?

Mostly just say the character is off doing a downtime activity. However, there is the one character that routinely gets a pitchfork wedding for getting the innkeeper's daughter pregnant.
