    Ravenloft Boardgame?

Hmmm. I'm kind of disappointed. I thought it was supposed to release in August, and I figured Gencon would be the place to pick it up first. :erm:

    Ravenloft Boardgame?

Does anyone know if the Ravenloft Boardgame is being previewed or even offered for sale at Gencon?

Did WotC underestimate the Paizo effect on 4E?

Another thing to keep in mind about Paizo, is that most of the folks there used to work for WoTC, some as far back as with TSR before it was bought by WoTC. So in a way, it kinda still is their game, it always has been.

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Basic: What should it be?

I think a PF Basic would be a great way to introduce new folks to the hobby, and a good way to teach someone the basics before you stick a 500 page rulebook in front of them. Even if it doesn't hook new people into the core game, its bound to be a success as a one-shot for lots of people that...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo = Play WoTC = Pay?

Can't sleep Clowns will eat me. Can't sleep Clowns will eat me. Can't sleep Clowns will eat me. Can't sleep Clowns will eat me. Can't sleep Clowns will eat me. Can't sleep Clowns will eat me. :-S

    Bloodthirsty PC's

Excellent topic, and an even more expert analysis. I've faced some of the same issues as a DM myself, and I think alot of it stems from the "Gotcha DM's" that many have played under. I've had players that absolutely refuse to split the party under any circumstance, because they expect that...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo = Play WoTC = Pay?

I think if I opened my fridge and there was a clown in there, I just might pee myself.

    Is Greyhawk Relevant?

Be pretty cool if the Nentir Vale sourcebook that's forthcoming next year ended up placing POLand somewhere in Greyhawk.... :p Greyhawk might not a lot of relevance to the current D&D crowd, but you have to admit it has at least a teensy bit due to the fact that many of the gods, spells, and...

Did WotC underestimate the Paizo effect on 4E?

I homebrew too, and PF works just fine. Like anything, you have to tweak and re-skin some things every once in a while, but that's no different than any edition of an RPG.

Pathfinder 1E Happy birthday, Pathfinder RPG!

Wow. I just realized that I'm still just as excited about Pathfinder now as I was then! The good times just keep on rollin'!

Did WotC underestimate the Paizo effect on 4E?

I think a lot of our opinions are definately skewed by our system/company preference. I don't think WoTC underestimated anything, other than maybe the current economy. WoTC's biggest competition, like someone mentioned upthread, is other forms of entertainment. One thing to keep in mind...

    No, Hirst Arts. Just...no.

Here's a linky to an album with some (blurry) shots. Gaming Terrain pictures by drkfathr1 - Photobucket I really need to work on my mini photography!

    No, Hirst Arts. Just...no.

I'll have to upload some! Combined with some props from Fat Dragon Games and traditional terrain pieces (like tables, chairs, columns, etc.), I can really set up some nice scenery. Funny how when I was kid, I'd never imagine I'd have the kind of resources that I do now. To think, we used...

    No, Hirst Arts. Just...no.

I made a bunch of terrain "modules" similar to the Dwarven Forge pieces using foam core. I printed a bunch of textures and floor grids, glued them to the foam core and hot glued the wall sections to the floor sections. They're very sturdy, they look nice, and they were very, very cheap! Just...

    non-4e D&D Players . . .

I occasionally play in a 4E game, but mainly play Pathfinder, but I doubt I'll invest any money in Essentials. I'll stick with what our 4E group has already. I think Essentials sounds like something I would have liked better than the initial core books, but overall 4E doesn't suit my primary...
