iPod, Zen Xtra or Dell DJ?

Update Not sure if anyone really cares about my decision process, but just in case anyone does: I've heard some bad things about Creative's customer support, the failure rate on the headphone jack and the shoddy construction of the Nomad Zen Xtra, so I'm shying away from that. I liked the...

iPod, Zen Xtra or Dell DJ?

I'm coming off of using a Nomad Jukebox. That is just a bit too big for me. I want something small that can fit in a suit jacket inside pocket and not look very bulky. I didn't look around very much on the site referenced above, but it seems that size isn't the primary concern here.

Not With a Bang, II: Life and Undeath Situation

Grunlor Grunlor is agitated. He notes Camelon's response but pays it no mind. "What are we doing sitting around here drinking tea? We need to put an end to the unholy offense that is taking place around us. Why are we waiting? Let's go!"

iPod, Zen Xtra or Dell DJ?

How long has he had it? The reviews on Amazon lead one to believe that they start having problems after a few months. I've got a Nomad Jukebox (one of the original models), and it's not working anymore. I'm leaning towards the iPod because of Apple's reputation for engineering and service...

iPod, Zen Xtra or Dell DJ?

I'm looking for personal feedback here on people's experiences with either the Apple iPod or the Creative Labs Zen Xtra (both are hard-drive based mp3 jukeboxes). I'm going to be using the player in conjunction with a windows based PC. I know that the iPod is more expensive, but have heard...

How are you going to introduce your kids to gaming, if at all?

I'm pretty sure that WotC is coming out with a new "Basic" set or Adventure game or whatever they're going to call it. Though the current Adventure Game is a great intro to D&D and I'd defintely recommend it.

[EN World Book Club] Pattern Recognition [January 2004 Selection]

I'll grant you that. I'm not saying I didn't compare this to other Gibson works, or that I had expectations based upon other novels of his. I am saying that I wouldn't rate this in the "good for a first novel" category. I really enjoyed the concepts, the characters were intriguing, and as...

[EN World Book Club] Pattern Recognition [January 2004 Selection]

I'm going to disagree with the thought that Pattern Recognition would have been a "good" novel for another writer. I enjoyed the book until about 80% of the way through, when it seemed to me that Gibson was rushing to finish. There was no real climax. The plot built and built, and then...

    Dragon Magazine no more?!

Try eBay. I purchased some a while back in the 270's from there. There's always someone selling some recent & back issues.

Not With a Bang, II: Life and Undeath Situation

Grunlor looks over the office, impressed with the organization. He also casts a seaching glance at Camelon trying to judge the gnome's character. [OOC: Detect Evil]

Grunlor trails along, not wanting to loose track of the real gem. Nor does he entirely trust (or understand) Selene.

That's right. I'll open up the discussion thread on the 15th of Feb. Also, on/about Feb 1 I'll post the next selector, who will select the book to discuss beginning April 1. Reading period for that book will start Feb 15. I'm enjoying Eragon very much. It's a fast read. I look forward to...

Not With a Bang, II: Life and Undeath Situation

(ooc: not sure if I missed an opportunity to attack. Also, going out of town for a few days, but hotel should have net access. Feel free to autopilot Grunlor if you want to move it along and don't hear from me.) Grunlor will attack the nearest zombie on his initiative.

    Nyc Flgs?

Try to get to both stores. If you can only get to one, then I'll ask what you're more interested in. I think NG has a better reaper miniature and d20 section, with a good selection of other RPGs as well. Complete Strategist has a ton of classic stuff and wargaming materials. Great selection...

    Nyc Flgs?

Neutral Ground is great. Just make sure you got the address. It's on the fourth floor of an low-end office building. About 6 blocks from Penn Station, up 7th avenue is Midtown Comics, which has got to be one of the greatest comic book stores in the world. www.midtowncomics.com They've got an...

Not With a Bang, II: Life and Undeath Situation

Grunlor continues to close the gap with the Zombies, if necessary charging the nearest threatening foe. If he's not charging, he will swing his axe with all his might (ooc: Power Attack +2) at said foe.
