    Sci-Fi System Recommendations

For PBEM, I would highly recommend Thousand Suns. The game system is very simple but robust. Also, the PDFs only $11.25 right now on RPGNow. Thousand Suns: Rulebook - Grognardia Games | RPGNow.com

    [July] What are you reading?

Recently read Ender's Game and now I'm reading The Ten (The Kingdom of Graves). It's really good and campaign inspiring. The author told me, via his Facebook page, that he runs a Pathfinder campaign in the book's setting. If you're interested: The Ten (The Kingdom of Graves): Leland Myrick...

Oh crap, sorry! I should have looked closer at my DMG, that's where the stats for pistol are.

    D&D 3E/3.5 [v.3.5] Pistol Stats

Hey guys, I'm working on some NPC/badguys that are x-pirates and I want a few of them to have pistols. In which v.3.5 book are pistol stats found? Thanks in advance.

    D&D 3E/3.5 [v.3.5] Polymorph

Very helpful everyone, thanks. I hope the new Polymorph rules are included in the upcoming re-releases of the v.3.5 core books.

    D&D 3E/3.5 [v.3.5] Polymorph

Okay, maybe someone else can help. The poster above only linked me to the original Polymorph spell as it appears in the first printing of the v.3.5 Player's Handbook. What I'm looking for are the updated Polymorph rules. Am I right that WotC made significant changes to how Polymorphing worked?

    D&D 3E/3.5 [v.3.5] Polymorph

Does that spell replace the Polymorph spell in the Player's Handbook? Wasn't there more changes to how Polymorphing worked?

    D&D 3E/3.5 [v.3.5] Polymorph

Hello, I know the Polymorph mechanics were overhauled in v.3.5. Were the new rules ever compiled and released? Or possibly an online article that explains the changes? Thanks in advance.

So the playtest is out: What do you think? The EN World poll!

I like it and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of what WotC has designed. If I had to pick something I'd like to see different, I would say that I'd like critical damage to be a dice roll instead of a flat number. Oh, and also maybe Long Rest to be re-designed to be a little grittier.

D&D 5E Playtesting D&D Next: Reapers, Cantrips, Turnings, Rests...

Yeah, this is my reaction also. When I think of D&D I think of AD&D. If 5th edition feels like the D&D I grew up playing then I'm a customer. If not, ehh, no biggie. I have several sets of AD&D books on my shelf.

D&D 5E Monte Cook Leaves WotC - No Longer working on D&D Next [updated]

Yeah, like I said, I'm willing to give 5th edition a chance; I just don't have much hope based on the products WotC has offered over the past several years.

Good for you. Glad you're enjoying 4th edition.

D&D 5E Monte Cook Leaves WotC - No Longer working on D&D Next [updated]

I won't play it because that just isn't D&D to me. I'm not saying it is wrong or whatever, it just isn't the D&D I grew up playing. The D&D I'll buy has to be built around clearly defined archetypes of classic fantasy literature - and by that I mean Tolkien. The game has so have a simple core...

D&D 5E Monte Cook Leaves WotC - No Longer working on D&D Next [updated]

Great post. You sum up my feels pretty much. I'm willing to look at 5th edition, but as soon as I see anything like dragon-people as a PC option or powers or magic items in the player's section, etc. I'm walking away (again). If 5th edition is as close to my Moldvay D&D books as it can be, then...
