    D&D 5E Why does 5E SUCK?

Sure, if the entire campaign is dealing with one door, without any time constraints, then a party really don't need a fighter and will probably work best with wizards who all have memorized the Knock spell and have maxed their strength. In fact I would say that most games could work perfectly...

    D&D 5E Why does 5E SUCK?

I find it a big plus that the wizard actually has a chance to break down the door, when the party doesn't include a fighter or other STR-based PC.

D&D 5E Sane Magic Item Prices

The cheapest is to just play an aarakocra :-)

    D&D 5E Current take on GWM/SS

I understood what you meant (and I didn't feel insulted in the least). You are so convinced about your conclusion that these feats are overpowered, that you assume that anyone not agreeing with you simply haven't played the game as much as you have. You believe that anyone disagreeing with you...

D&D 5E Rangers and their beasts

Am I the only one, that find it a bit disconcerting, that what should be animal-loving rangers, has no trouble sending their innocent animal companions into certain death, forcing them to fight against monsters?

    D&D 5E Current take on GWM/SS

So basically what you are saying is, that 54% wants to do something about the feats and the other 46% just needs to come to their senses?

    D&D 5E Current take on GWM/SS

I voted "Other" as I haven't had enough experience with high levels yet, to form my own opinion, but I have my eye on them. Reading the different threads where they come up as a problem, has made me realize, that what works for one group doesn't work for another. Besides, none of my players (or...

D&D 5E Does the new ammunition rule screw up dual hand crossbow?

I houseruled that you couldn't dual wield hand crossbows when I was in doubt about the rules before, just like you can easily houserule to allow dual wielding them now. It isn't the only place in the rules where houseruling is the only way to make the game fit your vision of what makes sense.

D&D 5E General rules questions about the game.

Actually I am the DM, so it is me shoving the PCs around :-) But yes, it does seem that that is the RAW interpretation of the rules and probably also the intend, but I think I will houserule it so flyers just gets pushed away (or at least consider it at a case-by-case basis). It just makes more...

D&D 5E General rules questions about the game.

Question 1: As per Shoving a Creature (PHB, p. 195) you can attempt to either knock an opponent prone or push it away. Does the attacker get to chose which? Question 2: If you use the shove a flying creature, I guess you could technically (mechanically) knock it prone and thereby force it to...

D&D 5E "My X is underpowered compared to Y." So?

I would probably just wonder who put her there and didn't think it was smart to cover her head, and didn't search her for stuff like potions. I haven't read this particular module, but that is my problem with many of the so-called classics. They don't make much internal sense (which, to be fair...

    D&D 5E Sorcerers and Versatility

That is a fair point. We haven't had that many casters in our parties yet, so we haven't really seen arcane spellcasters in direct "competition".

    D&D 5E Sorcerers and Versatility

I can only speak from my own experience, but at our table we have had three sorcerers (two dragon, one wild) so far and no wizards, so we are fine with how it is and it seems well-liked, despite (or maybe because of) the things you mention.

D&D 5E Can a Reach Weapon stop someone attacking you?

Attacking from second rank isn't really covered much in the rules, so as with everything else, the designers probably wanted us to figure it out for ourselves. My issue is, that when we talk fighting in multiple ranks, historically it was done with piercing weapons and in that case (with for...

D&D 5E Can a Reach Weapon stop someone attacking you?

It is no different than giving a fighter swinging from a chandelier disadvantage on his attacks. While you may be a master with your weapon, circumstances can make their use less than ideal.

    A New DRAGON+?

I would actually hate having game crunch in Dragon+. I prefer it on the web (as in the UA articles) where it is easy to print and/or read on a screen with a reasonable size. Of course, I would have no problem with D+ having easy-to-use links for those web articles, so those who use digital...

D&D 5E Dealing with a trouble player and a major blow up

Basically, if you have to went over a troublesome player on an internet forum more than once, it should be a pretty good sign, that you are better off not playing with him/her. Being a DM should be something you enjoy, just like being a player should, so if somebody causes you grief, it is...

    D&D 5E Why does 5E SUCK?

Fair enough, I was just curious if you wanted to elaborate (which you clearly don't).

    D&D 5E Why does 5E SUCK?

Which ones do you mean? I haven't seen any real consensus on some classes being either under- or overpowered, and it certainly isn't my experience so far (admittedly I haven't seen every single class in play yet). There are for example many who say the beast master is bad, but I have seen...
