Spells you want them to bring back

Well, Haste and True Strike both stand out as memorable spells that haven't reappeared. That said, nothing good ever came out of either of those. Enlarge Person was also cool at first thought.

Getting tired of hearing "Grognard" and "Nostalgia"

Well, it's more that, unless you own the server, you have permission to post. And I have permission to read threads and respond if I desire. It's more the double standard that you're trying to set up here. Your posts are apparently perfectly legit, even when they are responses to others...

Getting tired of hearing "Grognard" and "Nostalgia"

"All you guys are jerks" isn't something aimed at anyone in particular. Regardless, I'd argue my point still stands: if you dislike the language of the forum in general, and especially what gets directed at your favorite system, then you should leave. It's the same standard you've asked lots...

Getting tired of hearing "Grognard" and "Nostalgia"

Why not ignore the forums where you find stuff you dislike? This looks like just trying to pick a fight with people that already disposed to be annoyed by these antics.

    Lava damage?

The down side is that he would have to be permanently encased inside a black full plate armor that would even breath for him, totally screwing up his stealth score with the constant breathing sounds. And a glowing red sword.

    Lava damage?

More seriously, what I'd do is figure out roughly what your party's striker can do as crit damage in an ideal situation (i.e. gets his striker bonus damage, etc) and use that number. Assuming you don't want lava to be deadly, then it should be something that really really hurts.

    LEgends and Lore: Skills

My first big objection is what happens to the highly trained character. He'll hit the binary stage of either super competent or unable to do it. That's not real interesting, and at higher levels I'm not sure that impossible should stay impossible. It also would seem to make the dm push...

D&D 4E Do you really want Greyhawk and Dragonlance for 4e

WOTC also owns the rights to the name dragonlance and all associated plots, characters, etc. If it's obviously dragonlance it'll get some form of legal action.

D&D 4E Do you really want Greyhawk and Dragonlance for 4e

With infinite budgets, sure I'd like it. Coming into dnd in 3e as I did, a lot of stuff like dragonlance or greyhawk never had a good intro book. At least not a wotc one. So a republishing of an intro book would be cool. That said, those settings to me feel kinda dated in conception and thus not...

Back to DDI: what have I missed?

Not about the web apps, but merls (or someone) mentioned online that they would have the web monster builder ready by some time in september.

    D&D Diversifying and Rethinking

Some minor refinements: starting items don't suck, some of the monster AI is a bit better with some monsters moving away from the party spawning new tiles and monsters, there's a neat "exploding dungeon" thing wherein you find the last tile for the scenario and that triggers laying out 5-6 tiles...

    D&D Diversifying and Rethinking

First, limiting quantity is a good way to pump up quality while upping quantity would likely cost quality. Doing a few things well is better than doing lots of things averagely, IMO. But on the video game front, first I question the ability to get a good interface of the rules because of all...

    D&D Diversifying and Rethinking

Well, made for tv movie is a different niche than silver screen movie. But the likelihood of D&D:BOVD being as well received as Ravenloft is pretty low. That said, I would like to see an animated cartoon series again.

Finally you can buy a mule

Would any party above 1st level balk at paying 75gp? Do first level characters have so much equipment that a mule is important?

fwiw, the fighter is almost as good at that as the wizard. Its defensive, locks enemies down, etc.

    D&D Diversifying and Rethinking

The move to publishing not just books has me excited as well. Dealing with the question of how to deal with slowly declining book sales as the edition goes one is a big one. The fact that they are working on an answer that isn't just "release 5e" is quite heartening.
