What Level of Detail Do You Like in Your Games?

I like detail that gives more options, but not detail that simply makes the game harder to play.

My party is more evil than your party

Um....I hope this group is just pretending and these characters don't represent some repressed social insecurities you guys may have >.>

    Good/Evil vs. Law/Chaos

lawful or chaotic is basically how much you really care about order. Say you find and subdue the man who killed your best friend. A lawful good character would take him in to be tried and sentenced. A chaotic good character would hack him to tiny bits, in his own sense of justice.

    What happened with true one-shots?

Aye. I feel as though the character I'm playing is actually a character if he has continuity throughout adventures.

    Air bubble in dice-affecting rolls?

Aw, well I bought a dice set from chessex, as well as everyone else I game with, and my d20 is kinda rounded on all edges, and it does roll a really long time :/ so I'm guessing chessex is crap or what?

    Air bubble in dice-affecting rolls?

Just wondering this, because I know there's air bubbles in dice, but I was looking at it, and I was wondering how much it really affects rolls? I notice one d20 in particular is very prone to rolling a 2, subsequently it (aside from it being kinda ugly) does not see much use at all. But maybe...

    What's Wrong with the Railroad?

Wow. Reading a lot of the examples posted here, it's sad to know that most of them pale in comparison to mine. Especially considering the DM told me that our group will be able to do anything we want after level 1, just doing a few quests to get the people who aren't entirely familiar with the...

    What's Wrong with the Railroad?

Oh god I lol'd. I think in the cases me and the rest of my group suffered, we weren't even given this sort of grace. We had no options but to say okay, since there was always this omnipresent threat of death that would snap at us if we did anything our DM didn't plan for in his "story". The end...

    Kobolds as PCs...Why?!

I thought dragonborn basically beat them out in, well....everything. :/ It definitely is an underdog thing, I somehow doubt anyone thinks those little guys are so badass you'd have to be an idiot not to play them.

Why do you keep playing 4e?

The difference between writing an adventure for a game and writing a book is quite something, actually. I could write up all kinds of neat stories all day, but making them fun to play can be difficult in some respects (because your environments have to be interactive and actually FUN) and I...

Why do you keep playing 4e?

Because I didn't spend over 100 dollars on this game for nothing. And it's fun, easy to learn

D&D is for nerds. I love it.

    Do you like edition wars?

I guess I sorta like them. Not that I enjoy my particular edition being bagged on all the time, but hey, every now and again someone will say something that makes sense and I get to learn something, y'know. They do tend to run in circles after a short while, though.

What would it take for 4E to win over the old guard? (Forked Thread: Changeover Poll)

You act as though once your particular preferred edition of D&D gets left behind so WotC can work on something else, that people will stop playing it. I've met far more people playing 3e and 2e than 4e players, so I think it's safe to say you'll be covered for a long time, no worries.
