D&D 5E Xanathar hint from Crawford?

Would it be possible to get the text along with the link?

Critical Role Delve into Critical Role's campaign setting with co-writer James Haeck!

So has the book officially come out yet? I saw that they had it at GenCon, but I preordered through Amazon and still nothing.

D&D 5E To use or not to use feats

Not only do I allows feats, I give everyone one a free one at first level. Yes that means humans start with 2 feats. Honestly, feats are not the problem. They don't really add much more power to the characters. I have several characters in my game who have feats that don't even deal with...

    D&D 5E Eldritch Knight

Having played an Eldritch Knight to level 20, I think you are on the right path to a fun and effective character. Mine was a Human who used a shield and long sword. As I was the only fighter (even armor wearing) character in the group I focused heavily on defense, but I sometimes wish I had...

Critical Role Delve into Critical Role's campaign setting with co-writer James Haeck!

Has the book come out yet? I pre-ordered it on amazon a few weeks back, and I thought it was being released this past Monday, but I've gotten no word on it being shipped to me yet.

    D&D 5E UA: "Greyhawk" Initiative

Conceptually I really like most of the ideas in it, but there are some REALLY big holes in it. Primarily that melee attackers are going to get really wrecked by this. Especially if they are of the move and attack type. One mitigation for that is already in the optional rules presented, roll the...

D&D 5E have fun storming Cragmaw Castle! (LMoP spoilers)

There are a lot of possibilities. When I ran this, the players made short work of the Hobgoblins and the doppleganger had to think fast. He locked a badly beaten and unconscious Gundren in a closet and then made himself look like the dwarf. The PCs came in and found "Gundren" and were relieved...

D&D 5E Need Some Help on Druid Build

My experience from playing with someone who ran a high level druid and from DMing for a few druids.... Shapechange is nice but at high levels your best option is almost always going to be one of your spells. At high levels Shapechange ends up being one of those abilities of "nice to have" but...

    D&D 5E A Barbarian, A Ranger and a designer walk into a bar

Using Hit Dice as a spendable or expendable resource is quite a good idea. It was done to good effect on some of the class (or maybe race) abilities in the 5e remake of The One Ring. I only remember the playtest documents and haven't seen the final version, but "hit dice as resource" worked well...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana Returns to Monthly With Some Revised Subclasses

I'm really liking a lot of these. I could even see myself playing most of them. I still don't like the Favored Soul though. The inclusion of requiring the cure wounds doesn't bug me that much but the 6th level ability Empowered Healing seems like the assumption is that all Favored Souls would...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Feats for Races

My mind looks at that and immediately reads it as HVV (Human Vampire Virus), too much Shadowrun in my youth.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Feats for Races

I really like this idea. In fact a character that was in a campaign we just finished (got to level 20!) a few weeks ago had this exact thing in his family background....descended from Elven nobility, but the blood was diluted through many generations of humans. Would be neat to allow something...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Feats for Races

If I'm understanding you correctly, in that you are saying the Human feats are not good, then I would say I agree with you. Actually I don't think they are all that bad per se, it is just they seem rather boring and seem like they could be probably feats that anyone could take. Just call them...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Feats for Races

Perhaps a DM with a small amount of sense? Also that one is self-limiting as you only have so many Hit Dice for healing. And once you are outside of combat you can just claim a short rest and heal up normally anyway.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Feats for Races

Far too many of these go back to the well of "gain double proficiency bonus if already proficient", but the ones that don't go to that well are for more interesting. Not sure if some of these could be over power or not, Dwarf Rogue with Dwarf Resilience seems like a fun combo. Some of these...

D&D 5E Revamped Ability Score Bonuses

I hate to constantly go to the True20 well, but.......True20 actually did a lot of the things you are suggesting. They did away with ability scores and just used the bonus. Characters started with +0 to +3 and could eventually raise it. Personally I really like using Str for all damage and Dex...
