Fantasy and Science Fiction Writer Victor Milan Passes Away

It is a common euphemism. That just shows how common axiomatic theism is in American speech. This is assuming facts which are not in evidence. Also isn't "triggered" is more of an emotional response? This is much, much, much more about what I think than it is about what I feel.

Fantasy and Science Fiction Writer Victor Milan Passes Away

Can't you just say "died"? "Passed away" implies that there is somewhere else to "pass" to, and therefore excludes those who do not believe that. Too bad he's dead.

    Looking At Dungeon Tiles Reincarnated

These have more tiles (16) than the previous sets did (10). I believe they're ten reprints and six new but I don't have the previous versions to be sure.

The Top D&D News Stories of 2017

It seems as if Xanathar's being the best selling D&D book ever should be on this list.

    D&D 5E Stalker0's Xanathar Spell Ratings

Serious that the RAW will let you do this. Serious that this is what Munchkins will do once they can afford the "Raise Deads". Not serious that I think it is a good idea. OTOH the gods know that the Raise Dead spell exists, so if they left the widowed loophole in the "Ceremony" spell they must...

    D&D 5E Stalker0's Xanathar Spell Ratings

Ceremony can be very powerful if you cast Wedding Ceremony. Stacking +2 AC to two creatures that lasts for days for a 1st level slot is great. You just can't cast it again until that creature is widowed. You just need to marry off the party of each other at the start of each adventure, and the...

D&D 4E Things from 4E Not Done Well

    1) The grind. A) Fights take too long. Usually I want shorter fights so that there is more time to do other things. B) Fights take too long. Sometimes I want shorter fights so that I can have more of them. 2) PC's are always at 100% of their hit points the next day (barring disease). This...

    New Armor Types

But Toughness also increases the distance between 0 and negative Bloodied (i.e. dead) by 2.5 points per tier. The armor doesn't do that. The armor might still be better at higher levels but I think Toughness is probably better at low levels, especially at first level.

I own hardcovers and I own PDFs legally. Can I print my PDFs to use at the gametable?

I don't think that you can. If I buy one hardcover only one person can look at it at a time (unless they're looking over someones shoulder). Therefore if I buy one pdf only one person can look at it at a time. If the DM has a copy on his computer he can't have the file open and be letting...

Treasure of Talon Pass - A Review w/ SPOILERS

Stores order Free RPG Day stuff by the box. Each box has about 142 items in it, but no more than 12 of any one item (six or three of items from smaller companies, maybe only one if it's really nice like the Q-Workshop dice). WOTC was a Gold sponsor, so each box was supposed to have 12 copies of...

Treasure of Talon Pass - A Review w/ SPOILERS

It's the basement of an abandoned mountain garrison of a fallen ancient human empire, long ago sacked by barbarians. Six months ago a black dragon with a bunch of kobald servants and a human mage took it over. They left some of the origional undead undisturbed. An hour before the PC's show up...

Treasure of Talon Pass - A Review w/ SPOILERS

It's the same mini, but made out of light blue (water colored) plastic. I didn't look at it much. At a quick glance it's nothing special, but is sturdy double sided cardboard (treasure pile on one side, plain rectangular room on the other), the one tile takes up almost the whole sheet but there...

Treasure of Talon Pass - A Review w/ SPOILERS

It's different. It is 'Free RPG Day 08 U31 Lurking Wraith' It is a translucent blue wraith with white hands and face. It doesn't look like any of the Dungeons of Dread miniatures. The included stat card is for the Lurking Wraith (51/60), the wraith in the module is much less tough than the stat...

Treasure of Talon Pass - A Review w/ SPOILERS

Wizards of the Coast has produced a Free D&D 4th ed module for Free RPG day, on Saturday June 21st. This is my review of the module. Overall Grade B+, (design and layout A, fun B-) "You and your comrades must delve into the ruins beneath Talon Pass in search of a fable jade chalice. Not only...

New answers about spellbooks in the FAQ

I think that the old spells stay in the book but you can no longer prepare them from it because when you leveled up you altered the structure of your brain so that it could understand the new more powerful spells instead of the old ones. It would be like upgrading your 'ordinary' artificial arm...

D&D 4E 4E, Healing, and Suspension of Disbelief

You do have that luxury in an army if the guy in charge of your army knew what he was doing. Roman centurions would blow a whistle every 45 seconds or so, the soldiers in the front row would rotate to the back of the unit and the second row would step in fresh. In any unit more than 8 guys deep...

    Making extended rests less desirable

x Won't this just encourage players to look for fights with weak foes? The first group of Kobalds might not give enough XP's to bother with, but the tenth group sure will. All the players have to do is figure out how strong a group of foes they can always beat with no Daily powere or healing...
