In the Works: February and Beyond

Theme I think that the themes introduced in the Dark Sun book would have been really good for this. I can see Essentially why it's a class though. Essentially it was a decision to make things Essentially simpler to integrate.

In the Works: February and Beyond

Ow How about a hero that explodes into a cloud of ash when exposed to sunlight? How are they taking care of that? I suppose our monsters are different and the Vampire class isn't relegated to nighttime excursions and subterranean adventuring?

30 levels, without the epic tier

Makes more sense This makes a lot more sense. The entire point of paragon and epic is that it scales with the PC's. It involves way too much work to make alterations, and even when finished you aren't going to be happy with what you get. I understand what you are getting at, but for what...

    Runepriests

I'm in a campaign where I play a goliath hybrid runepriest|barbarian. My wife plays a goliath warpriest. She was a Str cleric but we changed it when HotFL came out. The only real problem I have with the class is lack of solid feat support. I also find that in most games I play in I have a really...

Eladrin Knight is up on DDI

Interesting That is really interesting, I'll have to have my friends show this to me tonight. I've been playing a hybrid swordmage/warlock, I'd really rather go this and hexblade.

Did WotC underestimate the Paizo effect on 4E?

I think there are a lot of things you can do to ratchet up tension without controlling a PC out of the fight.

D&D 4E [4E Players, mainly] Ever thought of defecting to Pathfinder?

We've been mulling it over, 4E fixed some things that annoyed me about 3.5.

    Wizards product page updated 1/25/11

I'm sure it was a very in-depth review process. The new budget doesn't allow for as many sticky notes, thus the reduced content on DDI. If people want more DDI content, send sticky notes to: Wizards of the Coast, LLC 1600 Lind Ave. SW, Ste. 400 Renton, WA 98055

Why did you stop subscribing to DDI?

That's the thing right there. The kind of content delivered lately is what I'd expect from a website, not a subscription service.

Why did you stop subscribing to DDI?

A quality, well supported product that works well at a reasonable price. I don't know that I will use the online table, my friends and I like to play at a table. If they don't support that option still I don't know how much money they will get from me.

Early Access to Paragon and Epic Tier feats == disaster?

I have a revenant hybrid swordmage/warlock that uses a Belt of Solonor Righteousness. We are just getting into epic, and I picked up Ghostly Vitality. So now when I drop below 0, I am insubstantial resist 20 all. We don't worry about healing me so much during battle.

Pathfinder 1E Question for the Paizo folks regarding D&D's state of today

If WotC is trying to create a new market for tabletop simulation their best bet would be to give it as much exposure as possible. This would be accomplished by creating an "online gaming store." People would ideally be able to go in and play any number of tabletop games, from Pathfinder to...

    Ampersand: 2011 releases officially gutted

D&D Stuff Proper planning and business analysis would have led to them not being in where they are in the first place. I think at this point they are flailing and have some serious management issues. The great thing about America is that if people are willing to spend money there will be...

    Confused about LFR character creation.

Self sufficiency How does that saying go? "Teach a man to light a fire, he'll be warm for a day. Light a man on fire, he'll be warm for the rest of his life." Or was it fish? I forget..

4e = the Titanic? and other insanity or irony

Going to have to disagree with you there. They cancelled products really, really late, with nothing to substitute it.

Scott Thorne, a retailer, comments on recent events

The competition is a lot less intense, and the media drove the story a lot more. I don't expect to see anything about WotC's woes anywhere. I think the comparison is fairly apt.

Industry-related threads now in the Industry forum

4e It would be nice if D&D had its own dedicated forum for discussions of this nature. If the continuing customer base is large enough it.

D&D in 2011: From Books to Digital

Not even going to touch this one, but I definitely wouldn't be surprised if my mom isn't receiving end of life counseling from Uncle Sam while I'm playing with my archaic books. I won't be joining the digital initiative, that's what I play MMO's for.
