Gary Gygax has passed. RIP beloved father of RPG's. (merged)

Mr. Gygax... I never talked to you, never met you and never knew you, and yet your passing feels like I just lost my best friend. I owe you a debt I could never repay. I've played and ran D&D for the past 21 years, most of the friends I have I've gained from sessions of the game you created...

FR Update at WotC-Year of the Ageless One

They made Arfemis a shade? Lame! They already had an iconic shade to represent the race, he's called Erevis Cale!

Dark Sun Novels Back in Print--Starting Sept. 2008

Yay Dark Sun Novels back in print... Booo Prism Pentad. I hated that series. The Tribe of One Trilogy by Simon Hawke (and the sequel novel The Broken Blade) were far better stories. Glad I still have my copies of them as I sold off all my other Dark Sun stuff ages ago.

    Why So Serious? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

That's because it's not the Batcave, its a basement at Waynetech. TDK is set right after Batman Begins and Wayne Manor is still being rebuilt, which is why Wayne is currently living in a penthouse in the middle of Gotham. This is a nice touch as it harkens back to the pre-crisis era when he did...

Extras Revealed For Stargate SG1: The Ark of Truth [Final Cover Art, see post #10]

Awesome stuff. I'm very much looking forward to the SG-1 movies, as hopefully if these two do well in DVD sales, then they will consider making some more. Along the same lines I made sure to buy a copy of Babylon 5 The Lost Tales on its release day in the hope that good sales of that will lead...

Sites That Sell Lots of D&D Minis?

I have had nothing but good experience with this site and have bought from it many times now with not a single problem: http://www.sweatyarmpits.co.uk/

    Recommended Yuan-Ti related Stuff

Fortress of the Yuan-Ti - A WotC adventure. I don't own it but it's the only pure Yuan-ti adventure I know of. Serpent Kingdoms (FR Accessory) - Excellent book covering Yuan-ti, Nagas, Lizardfolk and more. Easy to use outside the Realms as well. Ssethregore - For the Arcanis setting. Not a...

Desert of Desolation Gallery is up!!

Instead of another previews article, it seems WotC have jumped ahead and simply posted the gallery for the whole set online. You can find it here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mg/dod Some very nice figures in there, though not enough to warrant me buying boosters this time, I'll...

    The Demonomicon of Iggwilv: Graz'zt

Very very nice article. Thanks for writing it Mr. Jacobs and here's hoping that before 4E comes along that we can at least see the last of the "Big Three" Demon Lords done up in similar style as I for one (and I know for a fact I'm not alone in this) am eager to see what the entry for Orcus...

Which "X Series" adventures have you played or ran?

I've run X1 and X8 numerous times. X8 is a really good module imho set on the small jungle island of Teki-Nura-Ria where the PC's are hired to go and find out the reason why the Kara-Kara (primitive orcs) have started raiding regional shipping, and to find out who is behind the raids and put a...

Which "B Series" adventures have you played or ran?

I've run B4 a couple times and it went down well both times. B12 is a sequel to B11 but can easily be played as a stand-alone adventure (and as I don't have B11 that's what I've run it as twice). Features a nifty little dungeon crawl to begin with, followed by a battle against a self styled...

What would your next campaign be?

I'd go with a campaign I've been working on for a while now namely: GI Joe/Action Force (using the Spycraft ruleset). I figure on having the players each have 3 characters and they pick the one best suited for each mission. XP goes in a pool for the 3 so you can either continually level up the...

    New Dragon up

I had no problems getting to see the article and I'm glad that I did. That is well written with some nice nods to past D&D greatness (The Apocalyse Stone mention in Moloch's entry for example). Very nicely done. More please?

So, what published 3e adventures are you always going to remember?

Looking back on the best 3E adventures thus far (cos I'm sticking with 3E and not upgrading and I imagine so will many others), my choices for the best (that I know of) would be: Red Hand of Doom - Not actually run/played this myself, but my group are playing it now and having a blast doing so...

    Stargate Atlantis-Season 4 [Lifeline (3)] 10/2007

I did enjoy this episode but was truly sorry to see Weir go... the next time we see her (and I'm pretty sure we will see her again as she's booked for 4 episodes this season), she will likely be an enemy. I love this show, it has a lot more of the space opera stuff than SG-1 did, and its the...

    Favorite 2e modules?

I'll give some more love for Night of the Walking Dead. It's one of the few modules I've run more than once and it went down well every time. Others I've enjoyed are: Night Below - Ran this twice now, never finished it on either occassion, but it provided so many memorable moments for two...

    Best WotC Books of 3.0/3.5?

Nice idea for a thread! My picks would have to be: 1. Draconomicon - Quite simply the best book on dragons that has ever been produced in any edition of the game. I didn't even like dragons that much until I bought this book. Love them now! 2. Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting - This is a book...

    Best single volume RPG?

For my part the following get my seal of approval as complete rules systems in one book that are fun to play: D&D Rules Cyclopedia Spycraft 2.0 DC Heroes 3rd Edition I have all three of these and have gotten tonnes of use and fun sessions out of all of them. Money very well spent!
