For what it's worth, MY "FLGS" isn't a traditional gaming store, but rather a used media exchange. So I buy most of my gaming books now on the aftermarket for half off the cover price. That's what I consider friendly, not hole-in-the-wall dirty shops with unknowledgable sales staff.

I've had a run of bad financial luck and I've had to sell most of my extensive 3.5 collection, including some that were gifts (I'm not proud of it). I kept my core books, and the deluxe versions of them, plus my FR and Eberron Campaign Settings, Red Hand of Doom, Expedition to Castle Ravenloft...

There's a thread somewhere. ... I remember commenting on it. The Rouse, I believe, confirmed that the old stuff isn't going anywhere. Heck, I poked around and still found 2nd Edition errata! So it would make zero sense to take 3.5 down.

I don't really care if "the hobby" dies. I have my imagination and various rules sets that no one is going to take from me. What more is needed?
