Rope Trick VS Discern Location... Rope Trick wins!!!

and that Bags of Devouring are the innards of extraplanar (Astral? Ethereal? Far Realms?) creatures that eventually digest objects within them in a completely random fashion.

    Reading the blasphemy spell...

Just in case you happen to be immune to [death] effects, Blasphemy doesn't have that descriptor (and it clearly works on the Undead)... Otherwise? For no good reason.

The Monk isn't MAD... he's ENRAGED!!!!

The only way a Non-Caster 20 has any hope of defeating any Caster 20 is by taking UMD and trying to beat them at their own game... or hope for hopelessly contrived sets of events which allow the Non-Caster to get close enough to use their Amulet of AMF (underdark 25k, whatever its called) and...

D&D 4E For the post 4E world, what will your game be?

I fail to understand the problem here (ok, OP's question). If you like 4e and want to continue playing / running it... whats to stop you? You don't need corporate sponsorship to game. WotC not supporting *your* D&D? I guess they don't need your $$... me? I'll be playing 3.5 or the new...

Marvel Heroic Roleplaying - Thoughts on our first Civil War session (Spoilers!)

Ahnehnois Well HERO System, for example, goes out of its way to tell you exactly what the Super Hero can and can not do... it tries to have a rule for everything. MSH leaves a lot of that to the Players and GM/Storyteller/whatever. It doesn't try to give you a physics engine (or RPG version...

Rope Trick VS Discern Location... Rope Trick wins!!!

..but that would be a House Rule. There is nothing to indicate that Discern Location can tell how you got to where you are. Where you are is Extradimensional.

    Why re-release 3.5?

Largely this. I like Paizo's setting, but their oddball House Rules leave me cold. I use CMB/CMD in my 3.5 game and allow players to use PF Classes (PF Paladin, for example is an improvement), but thats about it. If WotC rereleases the Core, I will buy them. Perhaps two of each with the notion...

    How big is my katana?

Katana were made to fit. If they have an average length, it is solely based on the average height (and thus arm length) of the average samurai. So how tall is your character?

Rope Trick VS Discern Location... Rope Trick wins!!!

Discern Location tells them where you are, not how you got there. If you are in a Rope Trick, thats where you are. Some extradimensional zone. This isn't even a big deal. Who camps out in a Rope Trick indefinately? Cast Discern Location in a couple hours and see if they're still there...

    Recharge Magic and Reserve feats

...and this is only a low level issue for the Wizard. He will not be running out of spells easily at the higher levels.

The Monk isn't MAD... he's ENRAGED!!!!

A fantastic item to invest in for a Mundane (read: non-caster)! However, are we assuming Combat here? If so how does the AMF'd Monk reach the Flying / Invisible / Mirror Imaged / Displaced (really, flight alone would bone the Monk) Mage? Or are you taking the "Monk vs sleeping wizard, lolz!"...

Which Edition(s) do you regularly play?

You can't please everybody. WotC should know this :p

    Recharge Magic and Reserve feats

Is this wizard level 1 then? Let him "suffer", he will rise greatly in power compared to his non-caster comrades soon enough.

Uniting the Editions: How well did this playtest packet do?

Your poll is horribly flawed and obviously skewed to your own viewpoints. After this playtest packet I am still of the mindset to continue on with 3e with Fluff Support from Paizo (Paizo's house rules leave me cold, for the most part). 5e can not unify the Editions, such is simply not...

Which Edition(s) do you regularly play?

D&D 3.5 Pathfinder is not an edition of D&D, it is House Ruled (and very well marketed :p) 3.5

The Monk isn't MAD... he's ENRAGED!!!!

James the Newbie: Your last line there caught my eye. I am hesitant to consider the Monk a "tank", at all. Aside from "concept class", I am at a loss as to what to label them under. "Striker", "Mage-Killer"? Perhaps. At the higher levels though, any Mage who dies to a Monk without extreme luck...

Marvel Heroic Roleplaying - Thoughts on our first Civil War session (Spoilers!)

My group played through the Break Out event and then went off to the Savage Lands chasing after Sauron. This system is very different from other Supers systems I have played (CHAMPIONs 2e, Mutants & Masterminds 1e, GURPs Supers, etc). Earlier systems seemed to try to emulate the Super Hero...

    Question about templates and swarms

Personally, I have never thought to template a swarm. Swarms are pretty nasty right out the gate... Now... my players will have cause to hate you, Greenfield :D
