    Target Demographic?

Okay, here's something I have not seen addressed so far, but would be quite interesting to someone like me. What is the target demographic for purchasing/playing D&D 4e? Who do you expect to be playing it? Who is the audience you are really striving to capture? I get the feeling, on a purely...

    Gno more gnomes?

You know, I just can't imagine D&D without gnomes as a player race. My campaign world, which I plan on using for years to come, has gnomes as a central race. I can't just replace them with dwarves, because the dwarves are the big, bad, nasty bad guy race. My players love the gnomes, and...

Do you still use your 3.0 books?

Yes, I use mine all the time. That is because my group is still playing 3.0. We never felt the need to get 3.5, and we don't feel the need to get 4e either.

What will happen to 3.x errata for WotC books now?

I am willing to bet that the 3.5 errata will suffer the same fate in the 4e era as 3.0 errata did in the 3.5 era. I think that the 3.5 errata will be ignored, or will be put on a very low priority. They will work on errata and FAQs for 4e books and eventually will get to the point where the...

    Concerned about DI

Can you quote where this is said? I ask because nothing on the WotC D&D page seems to indicate this.

    Costs and Requirements?

Everyone I have talked to who is not online (a large number of gamers I know) all want to know the same answers: What is this all going to cost? Are the three core books going to run $20, $30, $40, or more? What will supplemental books run? A lot of people have a limited gaming budget, so...

    D&D 4E WotC and 4E Communication Feedback

Why? Because nearly everything that is accessable from the Wizards main D&D page seems to show that DDI is an integral part of the "new D&D". Because Bill Slavicsek, in his Ampersand article says: Plus you add the teaser video, the video of the GenCon presentation, and you can see where...

    D&D 4E WotC and 4E Communication Feedback

From what I have seen of the latest edition of D&D, it appears that a great many people that I know will be left behind. Am I just imagining it, or does 4e really seem to require that one take a computer to the gaming table? Everything that we have seen touted about the latest edition revolves...

D&D 4E Sight unseen - what are your plans for 4E?

I can tell you that, quite honestly, I am not switching to 4e. I did not switch to 3.5. I played first edition for years and years. Second edition I played briefly when it first came out, but largely ignored it. I came back to D&D with 3e and have been happy playing that ever since it came...

    GenCon Shopping List (I Wish)

My friends at Stratus Artworks (Booth 2323, tell them Stephen says hi!) are getting me a copy of Wings of War: Famous Aces by Fantasy Flight Games. WWI dogfighting excitement! I could have asked them to get me other stuff, but that's all I can afford. If I only knew what freebies were being...

What Is Your Adventuring Groups Name?

I think the first, and last, time a group I was in named the group was back in about 1982. We called our AD&D group the White Dragon Adventuring Club, due to the gnome illusionist with a wand of frost and a penchant to use it. Wow, did the fire giants hate us! Other than that, I can't think...

    Gamer lingo glossary

It is? I played AD&D for years and years and I never heard of that term until today.

The percentage of women in gaming?

My current group is at an all time low of 33.33% (3 out of 9). I've had groups that are 75%, 50%, and 60%. I've been very lucky, I guess. Judging by the numbers being bantered about here, I would say extremely lucky.

Expedition To.... / Which Expedition do you want to see next?

These days I am not generally inclined to buy modules, but if the following ones were made I would break down and get them. Expedition to the Keep on the Borderlands. There's just something fun and slightly silly about the Caves of Chaos. There are also some particularly nasty things hanging...

What do you carry your stuff in when going to a game?

Normally, the games are at my house, so I do not have to carry my things in anything other than my hands. If I do go to a game outside my house, I usually use a messanger bag, complete with a custome logo and the phrase "Ancient Gamer and Curmudgeon" on it. My roommates got it for me from...

    Dragon-themed dice ?

The dice from MacGregor Games do actually roll true, contrary to their odd appearance. I spent a day chi-square testing them for Charles (the owner). The dice are great, especially if you get the green ones, they have a wonderful appearance to them. I can highly recommend them.

    Snow/Ice battlemaps or tiles

Skeleton Key Games has some fairly nice ice game tiles. They also have some specialized ice temple ones, and some transitional tiles from ice to other terrain. Check them out, they are reasonable priced too.

What Free Games are out there?

Here's one that could fit under Free RPGs as well as Obscure RPGs. It's called Simply Roleplaying! from Microtactix . It's a nice game system, actually. As the name implies it is simple, but also flexible and can be used for a variety of genre.

    The C&C poll

I am a GURPS played stuck playing D&D because that is what my group wants to play. They are a bit odd about their gaming choices, so I am not sure if they would play C&C.
