If you were to add rolling for damage to True20...

I was thinking about something like that... it might work. Then again increasing the damage could make things even more lethal ::evil grin::

If you were to add rolling for damage to True20...

Thats what my wife and two friends want. The other dice. My wife explained that she enjoys the thrill of rolling the damage dice and exhilaration of rolling high and the humility of rolling low. Personally I don't think she really cares about HP so much as rolling damage in a way

If you were to add rolling for damage to True20...

Played with my wife and she hates the damage save with a vengence. Actually she doesn't mind the save itself. She hates that she cannot roll for damage. How would you add HP and/or damage back into the game. If I were to add damage, I would make it low HP. I'd still like to use a damage save...

    True 20 Combat

True20 does have feints & many maneuvers. It's not just "attack". It just lacks the AoO's and Flanking rules. I think flanking could easily be added back in. As to AoO's... I havn't read the books, just saw the pretty bad movies - and True20 fits the movies well. I'll ask you Bookies about...

    True 20 Combat

Whatever floats your boat. There's more pages devoted to AoO, Feats and other D&D combat options than there are in the rules sections of True20 in total. I was just stating that the way my mind works, it's easier to plop the character generation (with conviciton, magic, feats, etc) over to...

    True 20 Combat

In that sense, put the Roles, Feats & Damage Saves into D&D instead. You just need to get rid of the extra pre-reqs on AoO Feats.

    True 20 Combat

The Rogue can still do a feint (using Bluff standardly or Acrobatics with the use of a feat) attack that allows Sneak Attack. But no more of the standard "he's busy and doesn't see me, so I'll attack him while he's preoccupied" It's a sad day for rogues :(

    True 20 Combat

Flanking still exists? Where is it in the PDF? I brought up sneak attacks and the concept of flanking on the Green Ronin boards (an opponent is engaged; ie otherwise occupied) and being open to a Sneak Attack and people were flipping out about it saying that Flanking no longer exists and that...

    True20 and Modern Games

That is a good idea. Adept isn't only magic/FX, but also supernatural abilities. You could just call the abilities something else that would fit into the game and restrict which ones they could have

True20 - What Feats is it missing?

They have Skill Focus on page 33 of True20. It gives you +3 to your skill. What would be the purpose of another Feat that does something similar to a much more narrow scope? Maybe +3 to one aspect of two related skills?

True20 - What Feats is it missing?

I thought it was missing d20 Moderns Feats and Class Talants, but it's got 98% of those that are applicable to the True20 system. So what is missing in True20? Feats are Open Content, so I guess we could post them here and work them into True20 is you like. Unfortunately the only d20 games...

    True20 and Modern Games

What Feats or Advanced Class Abilities arn't covered? I went through and found that 98% of them had been covered in True20 or wern't applicable (related to AoO). Honestly the only Feats that were commonly useful and missing were some of the Firearms Feats, which should be brought into True20...

    True20 and Modern Games

Without houserules, True20 doesn't have a skill based "FX" system. It's Feat based. A lot of GMs are removing the restrictions for Feats, which does have reprocussions. The Adept: She doesn't become useless, but less useful. Her main ability now is that only Adept Levels give bonuses to her...

    True20 and Modern Games

For True20 the initial concept was modern supers (M&M). It was then adapted to Romantic Fantasy which is so magic light, lethal and cinematic (with conviction) that it's pretty much fantasy that is nothing like D&D. Adepts arn't spell-slingers. They use supernatural abilities which transcend...

    True20 and Modern Games

I agree with both CarpeDavid & Skywalker The Expert covers anyone who is skilled in something. Be it theivery, diplomacy, merchantry, music, etc. To create a social Role would be to copy & paste the Expert and rename it Social. It's the same thing mechanically. Socialites arn't inherantly any...

    True20 and Modern Games

I'm not sure about Blue Rose if you're using that, but the True20 PDF already has the Talants incorporated as Feats :D I had the same thought and as I went down the list of Talants I was like "this is coo... oh, it's already there. How about... no, thats there also. Aha! This one is... oh, it...

    True20 and Modern Games

I agree with the Adept thing. usefull if you're using magic, otherwise it's not. Most of the Feats/Talants are Feats in True20 already, just need some gun Feats. Create some Occupational & maybe Cultural Backgrounds and you're pretty much good to go. The Classes themselves arn't fantasy or...

    True20 and Modern Games

Green Ronin went through and turned all of the valid (non Attack of Opportunity or blatent HP) Talants and Feats from d20 Modern into Feats for True20. I've been thinking about that sort of restriction. Rather than Martial & Expert, having them based on the Ability Score. You don't need...
