Crown of the Kobold King Cover--What do you guys/gals think?

As a rabid Koboldophile, I approve. Mightily. :)

Eberron: The all Abberant Dragonmark Campaign

Interesting you mention it... Our party is an "Aberrant Dragonmark" party. (To facilitate this, we each got the feat as a freebie to start, in addition to normal starting feats.) IWe have a Xendrik'ian Rogue, a Warforged Sorcerer, and a Human Ranger. Intersting thing is, we each DM at...

Pathfinder 1E [Paizo/Necromancer] Paizo & Necromancer Announce New Roleplaying Product Partnership

Great news for both teams! :) Anxious to see what the future holds for the two of you! And, as an aside, I'm eagerly awaiting the "City of Brass" set. :D

How many have considered buying EoMR in print?

Got the PDF versions of the 3 WotBS modules out so far (I like to mark things up when I DM, and this is the perfect format!!), but I plan to get the print versions for my bookshelf as well. :)

What basic skills should every Dungeons and Dragons player "no"?

I agree with all of these except #3 (well, I disagree more with the second half of #3.) And #6 is a non-issue for my group. I think that "Optimization", while now a "Buzz-Word" for 3E, is NOT necessary to play D+D. Not everyone WANTS to have a twinked out...

Draconomicon, Races of the Dragon, and Dragon Magic - Which to Buy?

Im my personal opinion… 1) Draconomicon: Hands down, one of the best books put out by WotC in the last few years. Lots of useful information, both fluff AND crunch. 2) Races of the Dragon: As a Kobold-o-phile, this book was a no-brainer for me. :) 3) Dragon Magic: Much as I love Dragons...

The Defense of Grass River - A Free D20 Adventure

Well done. Not perfect, but nothing ever is! :) Looks like it could potentially even be an interesting beginning to a campaign, and, on a personal level, it's right up my alley. :) I like that it's not a "Dungeon Crawl"; very few low-level modules focus on interactions with NPC's, and I like...

Is it ok to hate cats and still be a gamer?

Add me to the "Cat-hate" crowd. (Being allergic certainly factors in to that, though!!) :)

    Alas, poor Zobeck

I'm going with Zobeck. The Ghouls option (while cool), seems too limited in use for my tastes.

What is your cut off point for MSRP?

For Minis? Nil, since I never got into the plati-crack craze. For books? $50 limit per book as a general rule. (Though I start to really analyze after the $30- $35 mark.) I have made some expecptions (WLD, RAR), but they are genereally few and far between.

    Calling on All Dragon Enthusiasts!!!

Let's see.. Top 10? That's tough. (I'm only going with Dragons associated with D+D, As a Dracophile, there's WAY too many other cool famous dragons to pare down to a list of 10!!) :) 1) Tiamat 2) Bahamut 3) Dregotha 4) Borys, the Dragon of Athas (As a HUGE DS fan, I'm obligated to put him...

On the heels of that, what about Bahamut? (Those are my top two!)

    WizKids New Star Wars License

You are correct; I haven't looked at set lists. Stil have no interest in playing, but may now go to Ebay, see if I can get some of the Cthulhu figs for cheap. :)

    WizKids New Star Wars License

This is all just my antecdotal experiences, so take it with a grain of salt... Becaause I really don't even give WizKids any thought anymore; I'm sure their SW game will sell passably, but it won't change my general opinion of the company or get me to play their version of SW. I've moved away...

    Dark Sun

I dunno; personally, I found the Dungeon/Dragon issues that presented DS somewhat lacking, especially since (IMHO) they changed some fundamental aspects of the game. (They were alos limited by space constraints, presumably, as well.) I'd highly recommend Athas.org, whose contributors been...

The Real problem with 3e D&D

Thoughtful post, Hussar. Even though I disagree with a lot of your points. :) I think the reason people complain now is because of the sheer volume of information available in every medium, and at a staggering rate. Now that in itself is not inherently a bad thing, but it does make for some...

The Real problem with 3e D&D

I think that's a simplistic and rather unfair assessment. To play a game, one shouldn't be expected to have pages and panges of rules memorized, or be able to do complex calculations in their head. (Personally, though, I do make a refernce sheet for my characters detailing the sourcebook and...

Are you a gamer or a reader?

Defintiely, without a doubt, "reader" for me. Readability is the first thing I look at: "Will this be fun to read?" is the first thing I ask myself, followed distantly by "Will this actaually be useful to me?" (The third thing I look at is the price/value for my dollar.) That's why I've always...

Are there "board gaming groups" just like there are RPG-gaming groups?

Re: Arkham Horror. AH is an amzing, and the new version improves upon the old in many ways. Be warned, though; for first time players, it's really tough to get a handle on the rules, and the way the game flows. There's a number of fiddly little rules, and it's not really THAT intuitive. More...

What makes a great AP game?

I think the AP stirs something in most gamers, as the Adventure Paths are truly epic in scale. There's something superbly rewarding in playing a character from 1st to 20th level, watching them progress from fledgling adventure to world-renowned hero. And the Paizo AP's, in particular are...
