New Excerpts: FR: feats and AV: Holy Symbols and Wands

Actually another feat wouldn't make a difference. Feat bonuses don't stack. Also, the FR feat also wouldn't stack with Human Perseverance. So you end up with +2 from that and +2 from the background, with a situational +2 from First Aid. I'd also consider House Ruling backgrounds as either Feat...

Characters of War up at Wizards

I can understand the logic. Most people have a background and a geographic origin. But as far as I'm concerned they'll be able to choose a single RULES background that fits their storyline background. They don't have to be a missionary to get the missionary rules if they can demonstrate their...

Characters of War up at Wizards

To be honest, I don't like the idea of making background too linked to rules. If players can justify why their background would justify a particular rule (from that list) I'm happy to let them use it. The Missionary isn't a waste at all, in my opinion, but some bonuses are. In those cases I'll...

Weapon Balance - A Statistical Analysis

Heavy Blades have more Paragon Paths and classes exclusive to them (Swordmage/ Sword Marshall) and it is possible this is factored into them being "low tier". I think it is important to note that for all intensive damage purposes at Heroic tier +3 prof and High Crit are equal. If you hit on a...

Nimble Strike, Careful attack, Twin Strike

How about adding Wisdom damage to Careful Strike but otherwise leaving it as is? I can imagine a Ranger taking careful aim and requiring a great deal of common sense and awareness to ensure the arrow strikes a vital organ...

D&D 4E Fillable pdf character sheet for 4e, version 3.0

I'd personally be happy with Powers just appearing on a separate page... You need the things mentioned by Sadrik. In addition you need an area for second wind, saving throw bonuses, etc. Stuff that appears below HP on the official sheet.

    Blade Opportunist and Combat Reflexes?

Unless the Warlord hits him with Viper Strike, first ;)

    Universal At-Will Powers

I'd make them feats that are usable once/ encounter. Similar to the Channel Divinity feats. Even make them mutually exclusive Combat Feat: Trip, etc... It'd be nice to see some more universal feats that give powers, though.

    Firearms

Personally I don't like the idea of a weapon that attacks Reflex. It's novel and kind of suits the idea of a gun, but I think armour would still offer some protection against early guns. Attacking reflex makes it seem too Matrix, in my opinion. A high proficiency bonus to me doesn't symbolise a...

    Firearms

The OPs stats are powerful, but what if you can only fire if you don't move. In my opinion that would make them more balanced (and toning the damage down). I don't like the idea of attacking reflex, but I think a high proficiency score shows how the guns are able to bypass armour more...

    D&D 4E Shado's 4e Color Landscape Sheets v1.2: UPDATED 6/24

Also, in the section for Attack calculations at the bottom there's no room for ability modifiers.

    D&D 4E 4e, Non-Martial Characters, and Limited Feat Choices

Case in point: Tiefling Ranger vs Elf Ranger. The Tiefling is actually 4 points down from the Elf by playing an off-class. Elf gets +2 to 2 core stats, Tiefling gets +2 to 2 dump stats. Works out the same as an Elf Barbarian in 3e, but the +2 dex arguably helps a Barb slightly more than int or...

    D&D 4E 4e, Non-Martial Characters, and Limited Feat Choices

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/feat Why are we calling passive bonuses feats? Made more sense in 3.5e when at least some of the Feats (Fighter ones in particular) were well... Feats...

    Second Implement

That's how I read it Duel. Interestingly this means a Wizard of the Spiral Path can use a Longsword in his main hand and Wand or Orb in his offhand for Battlemage goodness... Also Could a melee Wizard use this ability for melee attacks? It seems against the intent of the rule, but as written...

    Second Implement

Kind of sparse on detail. Does that mean you can use both implements in a single encounter? Say you use a wand and an orb- can you use the orb and the wand's special powers once each?

    Inspiring Warlord build request

Personally I'd prefer a human, you lose 2 Con (oh noes) but gain an extra Feat, extra class skill (urgh?) and an extra At-Will power, why choose between Wolf Pack Tactics and Commander's Strike when you can have both? Commander's Strike isn't AS powerful for an Inspiring build, but your Int...

    Dewl barsturd swordz yo!

My player wanted dual Katars for the "cool" factor, so not a problem. I think that is a good house rule. You aren't swinging your shield much... I think that whichever way you go there are very powerful options available to Rangers. Dual Katars and Dual Scimitars may not be Bastard Swords...
