I don't get the deal here. Orcus and Demogorgon's stat blocks are conceits designed to facilitate adventures with PCs. They are not biosocial schematics for predicting which demon lord would win in a fight.

The next session is perfectly fine as an epilogue. The PCs escape Ravenloft, the Warlock stays behind to rule a new dark realm, and the Warlock's player has a memorable sendoff for his/her character and gets to roll a new one up.

One of my tricks is to forego describing an element of the game and instead let one of the players do it instead. I might let a player describe how a particular magic item looks or detail an NPC. It adds some buy-in on the player's part and helps spice up the world.

Wouldn't these versatility rules just encourage PCs to carry around several weapons and swap them on the fly as the situation warrants? At that point, these situational +1s become an ersatz blanket +1. I don't see how that serves any goal here.

I see what you're going for: the Sorrowsworn as the anti-fey with the Raven Queen as the anti-Archfey. I'll go reread that section of Mordenkainen's.

The vibe I got from Mordenkainen's Sorrowsworn was that of a Silent Hill homage. The monsters, both in lore and art style, seemed very much like the denizens of Silent Hill. I'm not quite sure I'd lump the Raven Queen in with that.
