When the PCs Can Beat Everything

Just something to keep in mind, and mull over. It's something most people, game designers included, underestimate, and that is the concept of attack density. The more attacks you're compressing into a given time frame, the better off you are unless the accuracy penalty is very...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo Site is Down, Do They Have the Licence?

Well, the obvious answer is that they own the website and can shut it down on a whim, including the above mentioned events :) Not that they probably would...but you gotta be careful using that word "possibly" ;)

Fate of 3.5 Support on WotC Website

If I painted a picture, gave it to a friend, and his kid spilled kool-ade all over it, is it my responsibility to paint him another? While that might be the nice thing to do, and it would depend on just how good a friend he was and how much spare time I had, it's certainly no responsibility.

    D&D 4E The problem I've having with 4e.

Much like the efforts of a man named Gygax who came along much later, it arrived early in its niche and influenced a genre, and many lovers of that genre, greatly. That you dislike it doesn't remove or discredit the impact.

D&D 4E Looks like 4e's combat is closer, and I LIKE it!!

And yet it is exactly what's at the crux of this arguement. It's not really important how far away someone can dodge an arrow...it's out there around a couple hundred feet where someone starts to have a realistic chance. However, in combat, modern or not...not seeing the enemy, or running in...

FR to look like a Roger Dean painting

Yeah, it's probably for the best, given your description of your situation.

I love my friends but I want to kill one of them, Help me.

If there's not something seriously illegal or dangerous going on there, get outta the Captain's business for pete's sake! I'm gonna be blunt, but who are you to be choosing for anyone but yourself? Sometimes you just have to man up and deal with things you don't particularly like...you'll be...

    lingering high jump

If you could manage to jump high enough, then I suppose following the rules for long jumping, your plan would work. Your enemies will probably just ready an action to strike you as soon as you're back in reach though...you do still come back down :)

    eBay Question

Completely reasonable. Sounds like something they really really want, and when you didn't follow thier plan they reverted to adolescent behavior. FWIW what they proposed is also against Ebay TOS, though it happens all the time and isn't policed I don't believe.

How Long Can You DM ?

5 or 6 hours is about good for me nowdays too for a game with any depth...I could probably DM "bash the door, take the loot" until I collaped, but my players would get bored of it before I would.

How are people supposed to get jobs?

Sorry, one more thought! It can be easy to resist working a field you didn't get a degree in, because it makes you feel that maybe you wasted your time getting the degree in the first place. To say that though devalues the education you earned in the act of receiving the degree. You may not...

How are people supposed to get jobs?

I don't mean this to sound harsh, only honest, so please take it as such. Entertain the possibility that your experience in the real working world is so limited that you don't actually know what you want to do, only think you know. And you think it's the legal field. In the mean time, take...

Will you try the new "Death & Dying" rules now?

Well, think of it this way...there's a 5% chance that you weren't hurt as badly as it seemed, just knocked out by the blow. Given the nature of hit points (often debated, but certainly moving more towards the camp of "more than just physical damage" in 4e), this doesn't sound unreasonable...

POL Setting: Literacy automatic or no?

An arguement could be made for either case, depending largely on how long things had been in "Points of Light" mode and how widespread and advanced whatever came in the age before was. However, my experience shows that trying to force players to be illiterate is almost impossible...sooner...

    Currency in a POL setting

It comes from all ages, from every empire that once rose and has now fallen, as well as any number of local lords minting thier own coins. Before the rise of powerful, stable governments in the modern era (or a few in the ancient eras), money had value because it was made from valuable things...

Pathfinder 1E Why Didn't Paizo Do their Own "Dragon/Dungeon?"

I would imagine mostly because the current/expired agreement with WotC had some language in it about not doing that for some period of time when the liscense did expire. Also, as has been said in the past, where goes D&D follows the industry. Like it or not, I feel it holds a large kernel of...

    Barbarians are a race...

I know what you're alluding to, but I think the disconnect comes from the fact that most of the other classes are more like vocations...something you pick up and are taught, whereas barbarian drifts closer to a culture or way of life. It is still something learned however, so I think it lives...
