D&D General How many hours of D&D would you say you have played in your entire life?

Right, so I'm sure my numbers won't be up there, because I only started playing relatively late in life. I had a familiarity with the 3e and 3.5e rules due to CRPG's, namely Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2, but only started playing after my brother returned from varsity, and bought himself a 5e Starter...

    D&D and the rising pandemic

Well, I got my first jab on Friday - AstraZeneca via the COVAX programme here in Africa. Felt a bit under the weather on Saturday, but fine afterwards. About 50% (3) of our gaming group has gotten the first dose already.

A supposedly great thing that I'll never watch again- Great media that left you cold

Well, I had that problem too - and it turns out, the first season they were trying to copy The Office, which I also couldn't get into, since I couldn't stand the main character. And apparently its quite popular generally. Starting Parks and Rec at Season 2 certainly made it a lot more...

D&D 5E "....as if you were concentrating on a spell"

Well, it reads: When you hit a creature with an attack roll, you can call on your mystical bond with nature to mark the target as your favored enemy for 1 minute or until you lose your concentration (as if you were concentrating on a spell). The way I read it is that it it lasts until you lose...

D&D 5E "....as if you were concentrating on a spell"

I'd say that to lose concentration, implies that you were concentrating on said effect. Otherwise how would you 'lose' concentration in the first place? The wording also notes 'as if you were concentrating on a spell' which implies that you're concentrating on the effect as well. In the games...

D&D 5E "....as if you were concentrating on a spell"

Yes, on Page 5 of Xanathar's guide to Everything. Page 5, if I'm not mistaken: As soon as you start casting a spell or using a special ability that requires concentration, your concentration on another effect ends instantly. So yeah, sorry about that.

Anyone ever played a game with two linked groups?

I'm currently running a game with linked groups - but not in terms of players, but characters. My players wanted to try different characters, and at the same time, one of the players got sick, so the remaining players rolled up new characters, and I'm currently running them in the same...

Star Trek - Lower Decks - Season 1

Now that ST Discovery has started, I finds myself missing Lower Decks. In my opinion, Lower Decks had one of the best first first seasons of any Trek show, barring perhaps TOS. It was light, funny, and really a kick-off-your-shoes-at-the-end-of-the-day-and-enjoy type of show. The setting was...

    D&D and the rising pandemic

I do remember a different DnD plague - the Wailing Death. Technically not in an official adventure - it was in Neverwinter Nights 1, I believe. But its part of the Realms canon nevertheless. They did quarantine the city, if I remember correctly.

D&D General Alternate Alignment Axis Ideas

Why limit yourself to two axis? From one I've borrowed and adapted: The Authoritarian-Egalitarian axis looks at whether political power belongs in the hands of the few or the many. The Materialist-Spiritualist axis looks at whether the unknowns of the multiverse can be explained by natural laws...
