Have your seen an TTRPG license that is open for modules?

When I say open for modules, I mean that you want to retain rights to the TTRPG Core rulebooks, cause that is your baby. But you want anyone to be able to run with using your world, free license to create content whether that is Modules or Settings books etc. Have you seen that kind of...

Max number of days you can provision for?

For sake of arguments lets say its a Fighter, above average strength with chainmail, shield, longsword. Sounds like you are saying the food is easy to carry 3 weeks, its the water that would burden you if you can't get a source. So if you go with a a large waterskin that is only good for a day...

Max number of days you can provision for?

Lets say you are going on a long underground dungeon delve and so you prepare for the worst at the city mark, stocking up on salted meat, some bread, water. Basic mundane provisions. No magic elfin wafers. What would you say the max number of days you could provision for before you out of...

Where do you like to see your art dollars in a ttrpg book?

I'm think more like a players hand book, not an adventure. Or did you mean something else when you say "poster map" do you mean literally a map?

Where do you like to see your art dollars in a ttrpg book?

Thats a great point, I think it would be cheaper than drawing people.

    D&D monster art styles

Let me know if you have any other playlists like that, which dig into fantasy artists portfolios, it was so eye opening, and I loved picking up stuff as a non-artist like the Spectrum series of fantasy art.

Where do you like to see your art dollars in a ttrpg book?

So if you have a budget for art and you want to split up between cover character classes character races monsters miscellaneous throughout the book etc Of course the cover is the most important, but apart from that where would you put Color vs Black & White vs not necessary? Does every...

Is the 5e adv/disadvantage mechanic perfect?

    Great points, thanks!

Is the 5e adv/disadvantage mechanic perfect?

Or has another game something as elegant to provide bonuses? When I say perfect, I am only referring to the piece of the mechanic where you want to give a bonus, lets say +5 to hit and rather than using any math, you simply roll twice. What makes it so perfect, is that a) it removes the math...

    D&D monster art styles

I loved all the editions art and I am not an artist, zero training and I couldn't tell the difference between good and bad art. Various D&D podcasts often talk about art style and the evolution over the years and so let me ask you. If D&D 5th edition is the "warcraft art" as in looks like a...

D&D General instead of using spells slots ...

One of the issues I have with that is you could just cast your highest damaging spell over and over. In 2e you would certainly pick a bunch of damaging spells (fireball x3 please) but you had to balance it with important utility spells (fly, haste etc).

What is the hardest part of writing a TTRPG?

Really, I would have thought there would be lots of English majors available for remote work? I know nothing of publishing, what distinguishes a good editor?

What is the hardest part of writing a TTRPG?

What is the hardest part of making a new TTRPG, lets say you are writing a D&D type/clone but not under any SRD, so a distinct piece of work. Clearly the marketing, advertsing, selling, getting people to play your version of the game is the hardest part, ignore that though. The actual design...

OD&D Red box basic rules - confusing!

'83 apparently. And aha tucked away in the inner corner I see it on page 50. lol I would have never found it flipping through, I'll have to read it beginning to end. It throws me off so much with a solo adventure on page 14 when I haven't even built my character yet. But I love the quirkyness.

OD&D Red box basic rules - confusing!

I bought the red box basic set and the first thing I wanted to do was find some armor to equip. But I'm flipping through the players manual (and checked the DM rulebook) and I will be damned if I can find a list of armor and the corresponding armor class. I ran an adventure when I was 10 or...
