    D&D General Kara-Tur vs Rokugan

I love Kara-Tur, and there is nothing offensive about it being called "Oriental" Adventures (that's an American silliness). Living in London, the UK, I have met many people that insist on being called Oriental, as opposed to Asian, as they don't want to be associated with Indians and Pakistani.

D&D 5E Proficiency vs. Ability vs. Expertise

    1) Yes, and then...? Are you trying to wax on the variant of the d20 roll? 2) Neat, what would you have in mind?

D&D 5E Persuasion - How powerful do you allow it to be?

I would think it's pretty clear, I do not handle them. Unless you are reading this through an agenda, I do not deal with retries, they don't happen...why would they? I'm sure that is clear enough for the crew, but, oh well...

    D&D General Biggest DM regret

I'm just not in the mood to buy in the Americas, though stomping through my old LA and Maui stomping grounds sounds nice.

D&D 5E Proficiency vs. Ability vs. Expertise

Seems obvious, stands out like a facial disfigurement; you are gonna get a lot of resistance to your proposed: hey, Expertise ain't so hot deal, some like to do the ostrich move.

D&D 5E Persuasion - How powerful do you allow it to be?

I was obviously not typing about retries, but telling where you have taken it (slightly roughly in the barn).

D&D 5E Proficiency vs. Ability vs. Expertise

Okay, +17, sans other bits. Look, in the end I have no problem with people lowering or heightening ceilings (hard to do in certain flats), but why are areas of knowledge not as attainable unless you take one of two classes? Basically, great for a 1-shot, crap for continuity. "...no, you must...

D&D 4E Where was 4e headed before it was canned?

Maybe it was a mature, reasonable business decision, based on info, nothing wrong with that. And no, the same dozen edition warriors on the WotC and Enworld sites of 2008+ (and some here now...) did not impact the sales of 4th Ed (that is grandiose to the point of hysterical absurdity).

D&D 5E Persuasion - How powerful do you allow it to be?

This all reads as a trap, some sort of way to frame (seems a favourite word) other DMs in a bad light. Some are not into the make-it-up-as-you-go-along style off play, it lacks integrity, for some, the multiverse is not in stasis until the PCs interact with it.

D&D 5E Proficiency vs. Ability vs. Expertise

You keep repeating this ceiling thing, means nothing to me. Maybe I am maths stupid, I am just trying to illustrate that 2 classes being better at Arcana than a Wizard is, is weird (sorry for the alliteration).

Hey, fair enough, the old "if you think you can do better, prove it!" I'm working on it...

D&D 5E Proficiency vs. Ability vs. Expertise

Maybe a form of Expertise could be added to all classes, and something else for the Rogue to pull off when it comes to his schtick; to be honest, Expertise seems like lazy design. "...uh, well, yeah, just double proficiency bonus, that sounds good..." I really love 5th Ed, I am a huge fan, but...

D&D 5E Proficiency vs. Ability vs. Expertise

Maybe it's just the fact that it makes too many things cakewalks; grapple checks, Stealth checks, Perception checks (and passive) what-have-you. Artificially inflating DCs to keep the Expertise person challenged is not a solution. Also seems to fly in the face of BA, and the world building...

    D&D 5E Consensus about two-weapon fighting?

As you can't use the classic rapier and dagger without a feat (and then you might as well go for 2 rapiers), and feats are optional, it would be nice if the Two-Weapon Fighting style also gave you something like: "You can use two-weapon fighting as long as one of the one-handed melee weapons...

Pathfinder 2E Lets Read and Review Pathfinder 2E

Yes, I agree, and that might have to do with one of designers being heavily involved with 4th Ed design. Though 4th Ed is less byzantine than PF2, to me.

D&D 5E What Monsters got nerfed from early D&D/AD&D to now/5e

Yes, making Shadows one of the deadliest of 5th Ed Monsters.
