    RPG Evolution: Craft Everything

I love crafting in DnD! I think it's inevitable that official crafting rules will always lag behind, with every DM implementing their own house rules for crafting (including no crafting available). Crafting is so tied to loot distribution which is always 100% controlled by the DM, that any...

D&D General The joys of playing a PC with low stats

I love this list! I've always preferred to rely on roleplaying traits like these, regardless of what your character stats are. Most players hate having any low stats on their character but are perfectly fine roleplaying multiple of the "flaws" listed above, whether it aligns with their...

D&D 5E Feedback on a Feat for Blind PCs -- Sightless Warrior

That is extremely powerful for an Origin Feat. At level 1 it's already the Observant feat plus a buffed version of Blind Fighting. And then it scales to basically be Boon of Truesight epic feat. Does that make it "too overpowered"? Only you and your table can answer that. Will other...

D&D (2024) How balanced would be this feat?

I would say it is balanced fine, leaning towards too weak to ever be used. You're basically adding +1 average damage per attack compared to what can typically be achieved, which is really weak compared to many other feats available, although this is set up to be more widely versatile than...

D&D (2024) How's the adoption of the new Goliath types going?

Goliaths seem popular now, particularly Fire for extra damage and Frost for the slow effect. Stone is also popular for the classic damage reduction. On paper, Hill is really good for melee builds, but I haven't seen anyone actually play one yet. As far as how they fit into the gaming world...

D&D (2024) Hunter's Mark, Hex, and the illusive balance

Divine Favor at 1d4 per hit is weak enough to not require Concentration, but then Hunter's Mark at 1d6 per hit is too powerful to stack with other damage Concentration spells. There's nothing contradictory here but 1 extra damage per hit seems like an awfully small delta to confidently draw the...

D&D General Would You Play High Level (12-15);Wiith Pre Generated Characters? Mostly 5.0/5.5 but theoretically any edition.

I've never heard of anyone playing those games in America. This has nothing to do with country of origin, your only shot at ever finding people to play obscure TTRPGs with would be online, which everyone can access

D&D General Would You Play High Level (12-15);Wiith Pre Generated Characters? Mostly 5.0/5.5 but theoretically any edition.

It's pretty simple logic really. DnD is the best TTRPG gaming system because it has by far the most players, and then because the system itself is decent enough. After some tailoring by the DM, DnD works pretty well (but definitely not perfectly) for just about any campaign type you could ever...

D&D General Would You Play High Level (12-15);Wiith Pre Generated Characters? Mostly 5.0/5.5 but theoretically any edition.

Yes, obviously you were insulting others when you were telling them they are playing the game wrong and that they should play video games instead.

D&D General Would You Play High Level (12-15);Wiith Pre Generated Characters? Mostly 5.0/5.5 but theoretically any edition.

Yes it is the default. That does not make it "the way the game is intended to be played", and worthy of insulting others to go play video games instead if they dare to not use the default rules.

D&D (2024) Line of sight ruling

This is an excellent way to break the gray area and try to define exactly where the line is for your particular table. Blindness condition due to a spell definitely breaks LoS (assuming no blindsight), so the line is drawn somewhere before this. For the rest, I would think it depends whether...

D&D (2024) Line of sight ruling

The Sage Advice neither confirms nor contradicts any claims about closing your eyes - it was not addressing that scenario. The Sage Advice answers whether you have Line of Sight on something that is imperceptible to you. Your eyes are open, your head is pointed directly at it, but you cannot...

D&D General Would You Play High Level (12-15);Wiith Pre Generated Characters? Mostly 5.0/5.5 but theoretically any edition.

Only allowing games to start at level 1 is not how the designers meant DnD to be played. Source: PHB page 36 specifically states "Your DM may start you at a higher level." Additional sources: the many official WotC adventures that do not start at Level 1.

D&D (2024) Line of sight ruling

Closing your eyes does not change whether or not you have Line of Sight on a target. If your position on the map has a direct line to the target without anything opaque in the way, you have Line of Sight. You only get the saving throw if you CANNOT possibly see the target from your position...

D&D General Would You Play High Level (12-15);Wiith Pre Generated Characters? Mostly 5.0/5.5 but theoretically any edition.

Pregens can work great for inexperienced players who would have no idea how to build a high level character from scratch. You're asking completely the wrong audience by posting here though.

D&D (2024) What medievalesque skill name do you prefer, for machinery, architecture, math, physics?

I vote for Engineering if you want a new skill, but personally I would consider tying it to Tinker's Tools proficiency and keeping it RAW

D&D General Would You Play High Level (12-15);Wiith Pre Generated Characters? Mostly 5.0/5.5 but theoretically any edition.

I'd play absolutely anything if I knew the DM and other players were great to hang out with. Fun people beats everything in terms of game rules, every time. That said, I would be really against playing pregenerated characters, and it would take much of the fun out of playing DnD. Your idea...

Worlds of Design: Magic, Magic Everywhere

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

It's a very weak ability, and meant to just be a flavorful ribbon feature. The actual Level 3 feature is Reanimated Companion. Jolt to Life is just a neat flavor mechanic that isn't meant to matter but will be really cool once in a blue moon

D&D General How would you feel if Official Adventures only covered 3 levels?

Definitely true, I took it as a question about what people prefer most among all the options out there.
