    Rate WotC as a company

Why is putting down a 6 a principle? I put down a 2 because I feel they are doing a poor job right now. There is no rage or hate in that, and I explained my reasoning. I think that reasoned feedback is constructive and that unreasoned feedback, wether pro or con, is destructive. My 2 is no...

    Rate WotC as a company

I gotta say I am not happy. I kinda wonder if there has been a bit of a change in the corporate culture over the last two or three years, or have I been not noticing alot since 2000. I first started to get a but anxious a couple years ago. It seemed like WOTC was putting out books almost...

4e Level 30 Magic Items. Who makes these things?

If you figure it out, the rules state that a 25th level character should have gotten about 5 million in cash from adventuring. That is just the cash only, not including sold magic. By 30th level, you are around 26.5 million. In cash. So, even if you are pretty wastrel with your money, by...

    4e Cosmology Changes

Since I wouldnt be using it anyway, the actual cosmology would not be a problem, except for the fact that the races and classes are a little too typed to the cosmology.

    Solo or Horde in D&D3

My experience is that any single monster encounter in 3.5 was a baby seal hunt. The sheer number of actions the party got compared to the monster would overwhelm it. This is experience as a player and as a DM. Heck, it got to the point where we considered an unsupported dragon to be an ATM...

What CAN'T you do with 4e?

My very biggest problem with 4e that I cant do with 3e is one of two parts. Either: 1) I cant fix the problems of 3e 2) I cant use my preexisting world without major changes.

What CAN'T you do with 4e?

As a specific example, my wizard collects any scrap of spell he can lay his hands on. To the point of if it is a choice of save the girl or get the bad guys spellbook, the girl better hope someone else is doing the saving. If I saw the wizard we were battling cast a spell, say Vile Obliteration...

    Wired Reviews 4e

And this misses the entire point of the complaint. Some think that the rather generic core races of prior editions is a good thing, and the rather specialized core races of 4e is not a good thing. Not that I disagree with Mourn. Gnomes are not a big loss in the PHB.

4E Out-Selling Any Previous Edition. Good? Bad.

Inital weekend and inital print run sales are pretty irrelevant. I will be more impressed if next years core releases still have some zing to them. You almost have to assume that the edition inital release will do well. Most gamers may grumble, but they are honest enough to actually get the...

You don't like the new edition? Tell me about it!

This is 4e Warhammer Quest, not 4e Dungeons and Dragons. :) I just remembered one of my real gripes. I think the book quality is poor compared to 3.5. When you just get them home and the covers dont lie flat, that is a bad sign. That and the editing.... Our two real gripes are book quality...

    Where's the oppressive fluff?

Eladrin coming from Feywild? Tieflings are nobles from lost Bael Turath? Two quickies I could think of at 1am

Now that 4e is out, are you into it or sticking with a prior edition?

The fact that it is not back compatible means I will be sticking with 3.5 for at least a while. Even after I clear out the current campaigns, I am still not excited about 4e. My first impressions of 4e are not good.

D&D 4E Will Rule Zero be in 4E?

I would say you have a pretty poor DM if the only time you see rule zero is to be abused. Whenever I end up using it, it is generally because the players have been rolling poorly and I need to fudge to avoid a TPK, or some other result that will totally derail the game. Before someone gets on...

Wizard Spells 10-16 Two Page Spread

Which is pretty dumb in my opinion. I have found that having the slightest clue about the capabilities of my players, having the slightest clue about what they like and dont like, is usually a better solution to limiting their abilities just to make my life easier. Heck, I dont generally even...

    Why won't you switch?

I am not sure I will or wont upgrade to 4th ed. I will take a look at it when I can ge the rules in my hands. However there are some things that make me have some apprehension about the next edition. My biggest fear is that the rules wont be generic enough to use. The races and classes in the...

    D&D 4E What's Wrong With 4e Simply Put

Overall, I have not been inpressed with the 4th ed info I have seen. I found the announcement presentation to be downright insulting actually. While WOTC is the company behind D&D, we are the players. Having 4th ed presented to me like I was some noob at a trade show as opposed to a long time...
