Special Conversion Thread: Lycanthropes and their ilk

Of the three I prefer 'lope' but don't feel that you need to change anything on my account. We are after all talking about a magical creatyre after all. Let's face it if lycanthropy can change a creature's physical appearance, it can also give it a mental prod to make it more energetic which the...

Special Conversion Thread: Lycanthropes and their ilk

I'm not entirely sure that (were)sloths should rush into anything. ;) Although 'they prefer to amble into melee' is just wrong. :D Regards Mortis

Converting Creatures from Other Campaign Settings

I'm not sure I like 'enters' as it tends to imply that it only occurs when the creature moves in to the space. What happen if the vampire moves through the creature's space? Or if the creature remains within the vampire's space? Surely it would still run the risk of being poisoned? Maybe...

Send In The Clowns… (or, Converting the Oddballs)

It's perhaps a bit late in the day (and maybe a little too expensive - 12,000gp) but a rod of wonder seems rather 'toonish' to me. Regards Mortis

Converting original D&D and Mystara monsters

I don't think so. We've now done the Cayma, Gurrash, Krolli, Shazak, and the Wallara. I seem to remember when we were converting the Wallara of doing the linked wallaran spirits next but we chose to finish the remaining lizardkin first. I guess we could do the wallaran spirits now, unless...

    Converting Forgotten Realms monsters

I'm never adverse to including a bit of damage. Well as long as it isn't to my character. :) I prefer 2d6 to 1d12 for the secondary damage (along with the unconscious bit of course). Not much difference I know. Regards Mortis

Converting original D&D and Mystara monsters

    Converting Forgotten Realms monsters

Well as the original states "...and he fell to the ground, unconscious." how about unconsciousness for the initial damage (like drow poison) followed by 2d6 or 2d8 Con damage as the secondary damage. After all 1 minute is less than 1 hour.;) Although if it was up to me it would be 1d4 Con every...

Converting original D&D and Mystara monsters

Scalykind also seems an obvious choice. Agreed on CR 1/3 and Cleon's organisation suggestion. Regards Mortis

Converting original D&D and Mystara monsters

+1 I know they're fairly tough for their size, but the lack of reach and low damage let them down. To melee with a small or medium (let along larger) creature they are going to be provoking attacks of opportunity. Regards Mortis

Converting original D&D and Mystara monsters

Sorry been away for a week or so without any internet access. Just playing boardgames (mainly Descent - a D&D type dungeon bash thingy) and drinking - marvelous. Anyway the cayman looks like its coming along fine. Regards Mortis

Converting Creatures from Other Campaign Settings

I would suggest 'Children of the Web' but it conjures up images of spotty faced geeks sitting in from of their PC playing Warcraft. Regards Mortis
