[Kickstarter] Broken Empires RPG by Trevor Devall of Me, Myself and Die!

I've listened to his videos and there's a lot of design he's doing that I agree with. It's like a mix of Warhammer FRP 4th ed, The One Ring and Ars Magica. Interestingly, there are no ability/attribute scores.

    D&D General 100 Amazing D&D Links

If you're trying to qualify here to be a finalist for 'post of the year', you've succeeded.

The Expanse AGE, NEW Transport Union edition

I love it! This is what I always wanted the expanse RPG to be, not just solar system-wide intrigue, but a dangerous interstellar frontier filled with ruins of ancient races. Totally getting this.

Cosmere Overtakes Avatar Legends To Become Biggest TTRPG Kickstarter Ever!

Well, I'll believe it when I see it.

Cosmere Overtakes Avatar Legends To Become Biggest TTRPG Kickstarter Ever!

Yea, it's weird. Like... I don't see many people playing avatar either (local groups I see being advertised for play or at cons or talking about it on discussion boards) despite a huge KS. I suspect Cosmere is being primarily purchased for similar reasons - that is, a desire for merch by...

Cosmere Overtakes Avatar Legends To Become Biggest TTRPG Kickstarter Ever!

Perhaps a bit of false humility from Team Sanderson. There were articles on polygon, comic book.com and plenty of people in discussions groups who opined that it would most likely be the most successful dollar value RPG kickstarter of all time. And this is before they revealed it was cosmere...

    Draw Steel the MCDM RPG!

I do appreciate that actual, thoughtful game design has been done on this rpg as opposed to house-ruled versions of 5e that have dominated KS in the past couple months and call themselves new games. I'm quite looking forward to the MCDM RPG.

    Draw Steel the MCDM RPG!

Feels like one of those decisions where the principal of the company comes up with a thing and everyone else is too kowtowed to disagree with him.

    Draw Steel the MCDM RPG!

As I said elsewhere, that’s a great name for a three musketeers game. It doesn’t at all evoke a high fantasy rpg vibe for me.

    Space: 1999 Coming From Modiphius

Indeed. There are probably dozens of you. Dozens! 😊

    Space: 1999 Coming From Modiphius

So anyway, this game seems like one of those RPGs they’ll sell 500 copies of and we’ll never see it again after that. Bound to be a collectors item!

DC20 Kickstarter launch on June 4th

It did phenomenal in its first ten days (~85% of its total?) and because of that... I'm surprised it didn't keep going really strong. MCDM RPG never really slumped. Collville had more of an audience? In any case, I think DC20 is an important RPG kickstarter. If the Dungeon Dudes success didn't...

    Tell Me About DC20

I really do think it's that exactly. Unless D&D approaches some kind of fail state in terms of $$, there's little reason for WotC to change D&D from its most popular edition. There's just no incentive to rock the boat. Certainly 'better' game design isn't it. They did this before when they...

Pathfinder 2E I think I am giving up on PF2ER

Yep. I was talking strictly about combat which is what the earlier post was focusing on. We certainly do role-play freely in other modes.

How do you keep your GM notes?

For years I kept my notes on Scrivener. Then I needed a more player-facing approach and tried Obsidian Portal and then Kanka.io and didn't love either of them. Ended up with Legend Keeper in the last few campaigns and love it. Fast and easy to work with, liked a souped-up wiki. It's great...

Pathfinder 2E I think I am giving up on PF2ER

They definitely should be but I've found with the P2e group I game with, combat (we play on Foundry) becomes a video-game slog where everyone just gets fairly silent and stares at their map screens and moves pieces on a board to 'win' the situation using positioning and manuevers. I really try...

I saw that he had been positive on the game from months ago - I recall the video.

    Tell Me About DC20

Bob Worldbuilder is seemingly one of the few YT channels that admitted that Dungeon Coach was sponsoring them via an affiliate link to the DC20 Kickstarter. As far as I can tell, the referring YT channel can earn money according to 3 metrics: Click-Through Rate (CTR): The percentage of viewers...

How Do We Measure A Game's Success?

How I measure success of an rpg: Does it have a community? Are people playing it? Do I see players engaging in conversation about it? This is why 7th Sea 2e is such a colossal disappointment - a huge KS but I see few people playing it or talking about it. I think it's not a success...

DC20 Kickstarter launch on June 4th

Nah. 13th Age has put out a ton of well-regarded content over the past decade. The other games you mentioned are like 15-20 years old and even then there wasn’t a lot of content.
