    D&D Experience UK!

Aha, I believe I have just managed to book some spots in a couple of games on Thursday... I also appear to have volunteered to run a game on Friday... any idea how I can un-volunteer myself? *shame faced* In my defence it isn't the clearist layout ever... ... I'll get my coat...

    D&D Experience UK!

I have logged on to the gencon site already. something that isn't clear is do you have to pre-book a space in an adventure? Or is it first to register on the day? Or 1st to register on the Thursday?

Board games you own and would recommend

Descent is an excellent game, and the campaign game is very much D&D lite. I found the OotS game to be a real disappointment. I love the comic but the game blows.. I am fond of Bang as well though it works best with 5 or more, it is good end of evening game, I couldn't get the expansions...

Board games you own and would recommend

I've not noticed this section before is it new? Blokus Works best with 4 players, it is very simple to play but savagely difficult to win. Ta Yü I love this game, it is better two player than 4, it has an unusual concept for scoring which makes for facinating game play... I have yet to master...

    [Board Games] Settlers of Catan

Settlers of Catan Quick Guide: Part I Settlers of Catan is probably the most recognizable Euro-game, followed closely by Carcassonne and Ticket to Ride. Since it’s explosive introduction in 1994, Settlers has spawned a large number of expansions and line extensions that could confuse even a...

Puerto Rico (Forked from: [Board Games] Settlers of Catan)

Wow, you would hate me at the end of the game we sweep everything into the box, and sort it out next time. I have the expansion, which amounts to some alternative buildings it only costs a few quid and does add some extra layers of statergy as you select which buildings are in the game at the...

    Bookkeeping powers, actionspoints and hitpoints?

Those magnets do look the business, but they arn't cheep, how many do you find you need? I have invested in the cheepskate version. 22mm counters from ebay or here these guys do stackable counters in all sorts of sizes but you have to buy a helluva lot.

Puerto Rico (Forked from: [Board Games] Settlers of Catan)

Puerto Rico is my all time favourite boardgame, it allows for a wide range of stratagies and is the least 'broken' game I know. The expansion actually adds yet another layer of thought to the process, as you now have to start thinking tactically bfore the game even begins... I <3 PR.

    [Board Games] Settlers of Catan

I think cities and knights adds more paths to victory, I have found that standard/seafarers can become a bit of a city race to be honest, and although cities are important in knights & cities, because of the split goods they produce, they are less empowering than before. One thing though, past...

    Intelligence to Initiative

Yeah but only ever 15, and you then no longer use str... anyhow True enough, I guess I will have to revert to my basic predjudice that I don't think that wizards warlocks and warlords should be as quick off the mark as rangers and rogues, not without investing in feats and the like anyhow...

    Intelligence to Initiative

Unless he has heavy blade opportunity and bases them off charisma, what I am getting at is there is still a small reason for a wizard to boost dex, not a big one but it still exists. In the same way as there is still a reason why you'd want both str and Con. Most skills seem to be wis or cha...

    Intelligence to Initiative

I think it was done so that the rogues and rangers would tend to get the drop on folk and the wizards would likely act last, I must say I think it is fine as it is, wizards warlocks and some warlords thematically don't fit in the same set as rogues and rangers otherwise why cant my paladin base...

Shattered Gates of Slaughtergard and Red Hand of Doom conversions?

I am doing a conversion of Shattered Gates of Slaughtergard, all I am doing is monster conversions and treasure repopulation... Oh and I did have to bloat out a few of the rooms on the maps as the monster population has increased a great deal... I may get off my backside and post some of it at...

Where did all the adventures go, long time passing...

Hi all, I know i should have bookmarked the thread but I didn't, can anyone point me towards the pre-release adventures like raiders of Oakhurst and the like. I'm sure there was a compiled thread around, but now I can't seem to find it, in fact any links to cool 4e adventures would be great...

Of Edition Changes, Nostalgia, and Such (Long)

I think my experiance mirrors yours right up until the introduction of 3.5. We never made the change, just house ruled and handwaved where the rules didn't gel on 3.0. I was actually very pleased to see 4e right from the onset, the 3.0 game I'm running is experiancing all the classic high level...

D&D 4E 4e Character Sheet, fully editable and auto populating

Very pretty... just so you know, the stats only allow picks up to 18, as you can start with a 20 you might need to extend those.

Only thing I don't like so far: Power Replacement

I don't really see how one can like/conceptually accept the retraining every level, but not like/conceptually accept the advancing of powers at set levels... both mean you can no longer use your old powers, both allow you to chose something new, and if you really want to keep your trusty old...
