    Delay'd Launch or Errata

Hand them to some fresh editors before signing off on them. I felt like I was finding dozen of errors on the first read through of 3E. 3.5 drove me nuts because things as simple page numbers in the index weren't checked.

D&D 4E Typing system in4E (Rich Baker scoop).

Thank goodness. The double space after a full stop was so archaic. Now if we could just agree on Dvorak...

    D&D 4E New "Confessions of a Full Time Wizard" - 4e tidbits!

I wonder if someone actually took my suggestion for an unweighted/bonus system. With the change from negative modifiers to larger ability bonuses for standard scores and a system that seems to want more parity between the various abilities, it makes even more sense to use an unweighted...

Tiamat and Bahamut--Why Use Real World Mythology?

You may have misunderstood my first post. I'm a little more ambivalent about the greater demons/devils since they aren't as far off from their base. I'd still prefer original names, especially as they stray farther from their origins. The 1e version of Tiamat wasn't that far from its roots as I...

Tiamat and Bahamut--Why Use Real World Mythology?

Sorry, I can't believe that anyone who has read any of the stories could fail to grasp that they are set on Earth, especially when the author takes labors to point it out in the stories. I also don't think alternate opinions on it are valid when the author explicitly states that it is Earth...

Tiamat and Bahamut--Why Use Real World Mythology?

The setting was Earth. That's all there is to it. It's no different from Odin showing up in American Gods. And as I have stated, so much is being changed already, go ahead and dump them too. Older players should certainly remember the original Deities & Demigods. That's the kind of book that...

Tiamat and Bahamut--Why Use Real World Mythology?

Yup. It's not really that anachronistic though when you consider that technologies and whole cultures were lost in cataclysms, and peoples of later ages had to start over and only had glimpses of what came before. In that kind of setting, it makes perfect sense to use gods from Earth's...

Tiamat and Bahamut--Why Use Real World Mythology?

I think you and the others need to actually read the stories. They were set on Earth. There's no point saying "No,they weren't," it's a simple fact.

So, what do you want to play?

A warlock/warlord warforged. Naturally, he will be a pacifist. He will subdue enemies by making them trip over their own tongues.

Tiamat and Bahamut--Why Use Real World Mythology?

If you are referencing Conan et al., those stories were set on Earth. I guess that's why I didn't make the connection about appropriating names since he didn't as far as I know.

Tiamat and Bahamut--Why Use Real World Mythology?

Howard? Anyway, it's a lazy/fanfic-ish practice. Tyr being in FR never made a bit of sense and they should dump him altogether. There may be others there but I don't recall. It's like making a new scifi series about the hardships of life on a far-flung human colony and for no explainable...

Tiamat and Bahamut--Why Use Real World Mythology?

What exactly is the point here? The Tiamat vs. Bahamut thing makes no sense in regards to well-known mythology, and throwing in that weird thing about Io splitting makes it even more confusing. Tiamat is the one who was split into two and Bahamut has nothing to do with Tiamat. You might as well...

Do you like the title 'Paragon'?

Read the rest of the definitions then--perfection, ideal, peerless...You can't just pick and choose partial meanings to make words mean what you want them to.

Do you like the title 'Paragon'?

'Paragon' has two problems that I see. First, it's not really an adjective. Second, you can't have someone above a paragon. A paragon is the best there is. What they are trying to do with it is like having these three tiers--good, best, bestest. I think 'legendary' would have been a better choice.

Possibly. He could have written it more clearly if he meant that.

D&D 4E Rich Baker on his 4e Warlord

Which means that other races don't multiclass as well, just like with favored classes. It does not sound promising. I have no idea what you are going on about. Diablo I? What's that got to do with D&D?
