Weather Hex Flower | Random weather generation

Dear Hexplorers I've released a bunch of PWYW Hex Flower tools, and recently realised that perhaps people might just want my weather Hex Flower as a stand-alone work. If that's you, here's the PDF (with worked example), again it's PWYW...

    DIY gameboard

I thought some on here might be interested in this idea for a customisable DIY gameboard. Basically, it uses a 'mosaic tile' that can be purchased from tile shops, and using that as the basis for the board. Video demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uP9UQ4-cdhw

Rubik’s Cube | a twist on character generation

Rubik’s Cube | a twist on character generation I had this idea about using a Rubik’s Cube as a way to generate the standard 6 D&D stats. It’s fair to say, this idea probably wouldn’t appeal to the purists. But, if you’re after something a bit fun and different, it might appeal. For more...

Die from Two Dice - use polyhedral dice to ‘make’ new dice

Die from Two Dice - use polyhedral dice to ‘make’ new dice You already have more dice combinations available to you than you may think e.g. D16, D24, D60 etc. The below post outlines a simple method to get access to these non-standard dice...

Random "table" with an inbuilt memory ... (sort of)

Interesting idea. I wonder if you could have a set of conditions in the hex, starting from from unresolved type outcomes, escalating to victory condition at the top. Have a token for goblins and one for orcs, and it’s a race to the top (to win). I need not be a fair race, with for example...

Random "table" with an inbuilt memory ... (sort of)

The Rot Grub Hex Flower is just a bit of fun. But, the idea is that the result is the final destination I'd be interested to see what you cook up on the random dungeon front.

Random "table" with an inbuilt memory ... (sort of)

Yep, it's something I've considered. You could have a Hex Flower for temp, wind speed, precipitation and maybe cloud cover. I'd probably keep each fairly generic e.g. so temp would go from 'average' (for that time of year) and bifurcate into colder and warmer and at the top of the hex very to...

Random "table" with an inbuilt memory ... (sort of)

In this example, I added some rules to make a simple chase mechanic / simple game. For example, imagine Bilbo trying to escape the mountain persued by Golum etc :

Random "table" with an inbuilt memory ... (sort of)

Weather is an interesting example. If I were to use one of these Hex Flower for weather, I'd consider the outcome to be the dominant / notable event of the day. So, I'd do a check for that day and if I got 'hail', it would not hail for 24 hrs, but rather hail would occur some point in the day...
