    D&D 5E Random Spellbook Generator

Well heck, I don't want to put you through the effort, lol. I could that, heh, heh. But, if you want, I'll use whatever you post. I can already use that Necromancer one for example. That's perfect and it's "neutral" (so to speak). You don't know my players or campaign, so whatever you put...

    D&D 5E Random Spellbook Generator

Greetings All, Does anyone know of a decent random spell book or scroll generator? I'm running the PCs against a number of wizards and I'd like to drop a few spell books here and there, but I'd like for 'em to be a bit random in content (and I hate having to create spell books, heh, heh)...

D&D 5E Challenge Levels (Deadly Question)

Thanks for the input all. I'm thinking I just need to keep increasing some of the challenges to really push the characters in some of the "climactic fights" cuz, dang, even at 6th level, they can just tear some stuff up. Almost feels futile sometimes running them up against the baddies.

D&D 5E Challenge Levels (Deadly Question)

I get this and respect this. Deadly x4 is pretty flexible. I doubt that I would go as far as deadly x10. It sounds like you build yours similar to mine, by "feel", though I do go back and check the ELs and find most of them end up the hard or deadly range. I think a simpler formula for...

D&D 5E Challenge Levels (Deadly Question)

Yea, I get that, but two things...I honesty never look at the XP/Day "chart". I just build my encounters and run the game as I always have. The players are well experienced and have a very solid feel for when the should be taking breaks/rests. The other think, I swear, those number on the...

D&D 5E Challenge Levels (Deadly Question)

Question for the DMs out there, when building an encounter, by the (RAW, p.82 DMG) you add up the encounter difficulty numbers for each character to get the Party's "XP Threshold" for each difficulty level. Narrowing this down to just the "deadly" encounter level, if we have five 6th level...

    D&D 5E State of D&D

I dunno, I'm not sure I agree with that. I find that when I use "deadly" encounters, I can really push the party. I don't follow the DMG guidelines on how many "encounters per day" or anything like that (the party should know when it needs to back out and take a rest, especially with all their...

D&D 5E The Merry Christmas Thread

D&D 5E The Merry Christmas Thread

Merry Christmas Everyone!! And if I may.... Luke 2:8-14New International Version (NIV) 8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were...

    D&D 5E State of D&D

OK, this is off the topic a bit, but what is the "lack of danger immediacy" you are referring to? I'm guessing every group will have differing opinions on this, but I've found 5e to be pretty "intense" on the danger side of things. Heck, 4e is really the one that appeared to kill the "danger"...

    D&D 5E State of D&D

Well, I guess that would be a decent release schedule, but it just seems slower than that. Has it been 16 months? What's the "small to medium" book, the Sword Coast? I still think that's a bit anemic, but I'm willing to see how it goes. Two books a year would be ideal I think, but I would...

    D&D 5E State of D&D

Funny...I actually think 5e is the best edition so far, and I've been playing since basic/expert. In hindsight, I think 2nd edition was my "2nd favorite" incarnation of the D&D rules system.

    D&D 5E State of D&D

I'm with you on the bloat, but I'm not talking books for the sake of books. I think I'd be happy with one "flavor" book (adventure site, setting material, ect) and/or one "crunch book" (additional monster manuals, small modules, items books) per year, in addition to the adventure paths they are...

    D&D 5E State of D&D

Interesting points all around. Question...what the heck is DnDclassics (beyond the normal reference to classic materials) is someone converting classic modules? I am a fan of the slow release, I just wish the IV drip was a little steadier. I really like the sandbox adventure sites they did in...

    D&D 5E State of D&D

Well that's good to hear Kahl, I don't visit the FLGS often enough to get a feel for that (and last time I was in there, the DM running a D&D game was running 3rd edition!!, lol). I do understand my they have chosen the release approach they have, but I still think it's a bit slow. But...

    D&D 5E State of D&D

Hey All, I'm new to posting on these forums. Long time member on the D&D forums at Wizards, so guess i'm finally coming onboard with the rest of the refugees. Anyhow, forgive me if this has been discussed, but does anyone have any statistics to direct me to or article that tell us how D&D5...
