    The Tarrasque: An indepth analysis

Over the course of the campaign, you start marking down this 5 mile wide swath across the continent, marking the path where it's passed through and completely obliterated every living thing. They're in a race to get to a high enough level to kill it before it completely wipes out everyone on the...

    Ok, just tell me Why

Right on, brother. Plus, leaving that stuff out makes room for more monsters... always a good thing in my book!

What do you make and what do you do?

I walked away from a career as a call center manager for an internet service provider to become a stay-at-home dad for our son. Best decision I ever made! I earn enough with Zombie Nirvana Games to keep me comfortably in RPG's and art supplies while my wife, who is a hotshot, multi-Addy Award...

The guy who leaked the Core Books was a:

Total douche. He broke the trust of his employers, his co-workers, the playtesters... pretty much everyone involved in the process who did respect their NDA. That's pretty reprehensible.

Now that 4e is upon us, what will you do?

I stopped running 3rd edition a few years back and I've moved recently, but I'm looking forward to starting up a 4th edition campaign as soon as I can put a new group together! I already unloaded all but a small handful of my 3rd edition stuff at Half-Price Books.

D&D 4E (Poll for those buying 4ed only!) How old are you?

    37. I started playing about 26 years ago.

Artists, Contact Your Senators. It May Well Save Your Future Work.

That article has been pretty thoroughly debunked; there's no such bill up for vote right now.

    Printing jpg issues

I like using PosteRazor for this sort of thing. Works like a charm! http://posterazor.sourceforge.net/

    Hand-drawn map-in-progress [updated 1/31]

Started adding some color last night. As I mentioned, I'm using watercolor pencils for most of the coloring; I have some traditional tube watercolors as well that I'm using for a few colors. The road has been shaded in with the pencils using the same colors as the beach (a deep cadmium yellow...

    Hand-drawn map-in-progress [updated 1/31]

I think that's just an artifact of how I inked. I'll ink a bit, then turn the page 90 degrees and ink another area while the first one dries, and repeat as necessary. It keeps me from running my hands over wet ink!

    Hand-drawn map-in-progress [updated 1/31]

So here's the latest. I'm really, really unhappy with how fiddly I started making the fields. I let my mind wander while I was working, and my hand just sort of went off on it's own natural tendency to render the heck out of things. :( Chalk it up as a learning experience, I suppose. I don't...

    Hand-drawn map-in-progress [updated 1/31]

Thanks all! My electricity was out almost all day, so I ended up getting quite a bit more work done on it, and got caught up on some reading to boot! I'm taking a break from it for awhile so I can come back to it this evening with fresh eyes, but I'll try to either scan or take a picture of the...

    Hand-drawn map-in-progress [updated 1/31]

Whenever I need a break from staring at the computer, I usually end up either grabbing my sketchbook or whatever musical instrument is closest at hand. I had a hankering to break out some drawing materials that I haven't used in a while the other day (and since this is a board for art and...

A little something from the sketchbook

Thanks! I love sketching with my regular Prismacolors, but when I'm working on something I know I'm going to ink (like this one), I've got a whole mess of the Prismacolor Copy-Not Non-Photo Blue pencils. Their harder than regular Prismas, so they don't have that smooth feel, but they're great...

A little something from the sketchbook

Started this last night and finished it up this morning. I'm not really crazy about the background, but I needed a neutral color around him so I wouldn't have to draw an outline around him. He was sketched with a non-repro blue Prismacolor pencil and 99% inked with a Pitt brush pen; I filled in...

    Opinions on True20

A couple of games that I really adore are True20 and Savage Worlds, but they both suffer from the same problem: their descriptions of their damage mechanics are not nearly as clear as they should be. As much as I like them, after seeing the confusion caused by both these games I can understand...

    [ZNG] Fantasy Cartography podcast #17

:) Between Fade and the Simulate Pressure option in the Paths palette, you can do a lot without a Wacom. (Though I'd never give mine up!)
