    D&D 3E/3.5 (3.5) People complain too much

I totally read that in Vicini's voice. On to the topic at hand: I think people like to have freedom, since there are various forms of magic that are not represented by the core rules. For instance, in the Sword of Truth books, Richard learns to partition his mind (schism). In the Chronicles...

Mounts as Cohorts (formerly: Azurin Paladin's Soulborn Mount)

A veteren D&D player friend of mine has suggested that the HD are managed separately in terms of gaining feats. What I would like to know is, assuming that you are playing a monstrous class, do yout previous HD count for gaining feats or do you gain them based on new HD? For example: An Ogre...

    Heavily Armored Dwarf, Optimization help?

You might want to look intothis for inspiration. It basically uses Con for everything. At the very least you could go for Deepwarden 2 (Races of Stone) for Con to AC.

Help me use Modify Memory without my players knowing!

If you're doing this, you might have to have an NPC, journals, etc to sum up what was in fact modified. You could treat the real memories as a dream sequence (he subconsciously remembers them) in order to not railroad his actual non-modified actions. This will allow you to know what types of...

Mounts as Cohorts (formerly: Azurin Paladin's Soulborn Mount)

I'm just changing the name to more accurately reflect the information I wish to know. I also had a thought: Do the class HD simply replace the bonus HD or are those added on as well? This thread seems to imply that they get added on top of the normal class HD when it mentions 1 creature with...

    Feral Template and Shifter PrCs

It is also extremely relavant to a recent thread of which we have been a part. Sadly, I cannot give him xp right now.

    No-Core Game

If you were really hardcore you would do it without core skills either. Good luck with Autohypnosis, Iaijutsu Focus, Knowledge (psionics), Martial Lore, and Use Psionic Device. But seriously, I think the biggest problem you would fact would be with feats. A lot of non-core feats have core...

Mounts as Cohorts (formerly: Azurin Paladin's Soulborn Mount)

I want to mess with incarnum for a bit and I'm going to play an Azuran Paladin that will (ask my DM to be allowed to) use the Channel Incarnum ability from the Azurin Cleric sub level in place of the normal Turn Undead at level 4, along with grabbing some incarnum feats as part of the build. I...

    D&D 3E/3.5 What do you ban? (3.5)

Well, while I may not personally like it, those are decent reasons for limiting spells. Sometimes you just want to make the world rely less heavily on magic. I know exactly why I like it, it's really good without being outright broken. If I'm using it against the NPCs I don't have to worry...

    D&D 3E/3.5 What do you ban? (3.5)

What types of modificatons have you made? I definately understand modifying the polymorph-type spells that WotC has been haphazardly trying to correct, themselves. I can also see an excuse for changing the divination/scrying spells that can ruin a story twist or atmosphere of suspense...

    Spontaneous Druid?

You could give this a shot. It's a variant for spontaneous divine casters. They get to learn spells at the rate (at even levels) of a Sorcerer, however since they can cast at odd numbered levels they get special automatic spells added to their list. Clerics lose spontaneous Cure/Inflict, but...

    D&D 3E/3.5 What do you ban? (3.5)

There's the victim attitude again. You did respond sarcastically, so you are as bad as the rest. I include myself in that list as well, but I am under no delusion of enlightenment or superiority. When in debate, most recently concerning the influences of martial arts, you belittled people's...

    D&D 3E/3.5 What do you ban? (3.5)

Being bad at insulting people is not an excuse. This is more of a result of the fact that he's so convinced that his system is beter than everything else he's not willing to have an exchange, he just seems to want to tell us how we're doing it wrong. I do understand what you're saying however.

    D&D 3E/3.5 What do you ban? (3.5)

I never said that the claims were unfounded. In fact, I outright said that it happened in the post you are quoting. But, he is the only one complaing about people attacking him, rather than just accepting it.

    D&D 3E/3.5 What do you ban? (3.5)

The point I was making was that you seem fine with sarcastic and obnoxious remarks made by yourself, while also complaining that other people are doing it to you. Notice how I have not whined about people responding firmly to my posts? That's because I have been doing it as well and I don't...

I wish we could all be this compasionate and level-headed.

    D&D 3E/3.5 What do you ban? (3.5)

That's actually a good point. So far I've had to deal with a few Planetouched (there are about a dozen in the various supplements), someone that wanted a bloodline from UA without the level cost, Feytouched (not Unseelie Fey, I don't remember the source), and a Catfolk. I have not noticed what...

    D&D 3E/3.5 What do you ban? (3.5)

Well, I usually like to make things interesting by giving my players a choice of a free +1 race, +1 template, or a bonus feat to be applied at any level they choose. As such I ask them to consult me if they want to use some of the more powerful ones. Specifically Feral, Mineral Warrior, and...

    D&D 3E/3.5 What do you ban? (3.5)

Ah, so it's more along the lines of rules issues than actual problems with the system itself. Thank you.

    D&D 3E/3.5 What do you ban? (3.5)

Not to go off on a tangent, but what is the complaint people use with regards to Complete Psionic? Psionics seem very fun, maybe a bit OP if you allow them to ignore AMF and SR, but that's not even the default assumption.
