Scarred Lands: Ask the Sage [Version 3.65729 with Upgrades!]

No, they'd definitely be in a tizzy. From Divine and the Defeated, page 104... "Of course, Corean's worshippers are nearly as touchy when discussing his possible offspring as are the dwarves regarding Goran's parentage, so the real story of the dwarf god's origin remains a mystery" And just a...

Lawfull Good Paladin and Tax Collecting...sorta

As an aside, I don't particularly find telling someone to "suck it up and do it yourself" very good, either, Chaotic or otherwise. Chaotic Good seems more like, "You should be able to suck it up and do it yourself, and if not, I'm going to make it a point to teach you just how to do that." Which...

Scarred Lands: Ask the Sage [Version 3.65729 with Upgrades!]

No, she's not. Syhana is the result of Madriel coupling with a fey-lord. This also dawns on me with sudden amusement that the chaste Swan Knights (only one, indeed...) would more appropriately fit with Corean. He's the god whose followers get all into a tizzy over when it's brought up that...

    Favorite Demon Prince

Seriously! I'm more or less in your camp. Yeenoghu! Gnolls! Demons and gnolls! You can't get any better than that. Undead? Woo. So passe. Demon gnolls!

    Any Unearthed Arcana Reviews?

I figure I'll also nab Unearthed Arcana once I see one of those handy, dandy Walden Books gift certificates come in the mail from my Christmas purchasing, as I pinch my pennies, but I'm also a bit curious to see an actual review, instead of just rummaging through the various threads on the book...

Scarred Lands: Ask the Sage [Version 3.65729 with Upgrades!]

Just to continue on a bit with Eryndel's commentary, I wouldn't discount the presence of the archfiends or paragon celestials from the Scarred Lands cosmology, but I'd wager they're not going to have any official presence there, and if one wants to integrate them, I'd set them more up as...

<< PLANESCAPE >> How do you defeat the Lady of Pain?

And notably, a number of folk have already offered up reasons that take into account the "Why hasn't this already happened?" factor. That some folk still choose to disregard out of hand, which is when the line between fan and fanboy is crossed.

Moral questions of a D&D world...

No, they're not. The only characters for whom alignment is an absolute are for those such as paladins. Their presence shows that, for most characters, the alignment as an absolute is not usually the rule, but instead, the exception. Alignment is a reflection of general tendencies. Most good...

Moral questions of a D&D world...

It still seems more a matter of Good vs. Evil. Charming a woman seems an essentially selfish act, more defined by Evil than anything else. If the wizard didn't do anything "unseemly" and used the charm spell primarily to overcome certain social deficiencies, I could see it being up-graded to a...

    Unearthed Arcana SRD?

Will I play the wild rover? No never, no more...heh. That's simply delightful. And now back to the thread at hand....

<< PLANESCAPE >> How do you defeat the Lady of Pain?

Just because something is a Plot Device doesn't mean it can't be done away with. In Planescape, if there were ever a bigger or more grand Plot Device, it would be the destruction of the Lady of Pain. It's the equivalent of the apocalypse for other settings, not a, but the epic...

<< PLANESCAPE >> How do you defeat the Lady of Pain?

Canon-wise? You're out of luck. Theory-wise? Well, I don't think that's too off-base. Even a mountain can be ground to dust or swallowed up, with enough time. The point is, though, it's not exactly feasible for an individual or, say, an adventuring party, to do. First you have to define the...

    Unearthed Arcana: Buying?

I'll probably be getting it. However, the previews haven't entirely enthused me. I don't know...I suppose I was expecting a bit more out of the Prestige Class Paladin, for example. I don't know that I should have, but, hey. So it goes. I just prefer anything I put my money down for to be...

Scarred Lands: Ask the Sage [New and Improved!]

I'd figure a half-dragon would age more quickly than a dragon. That's just about a given. However, they certainly wouldn't age more quickly than the base race. A half-dragon/half-elf would age either as fast as a normal elf, or slower.

Scarred Lands: Ask the Sage [New and Improved!]

Of some small consolation, gnoll PCs, along with terali and gnomes, are detailed in the Creature Collection Revised. So at least they're within one of the settings "core" books. Although, then again, the gnoll PC stat block suffers from a lack of understanding about level adjustment and a few...

    Midnight-Is it worth it?

I think Midnight lives up to all its expectations...those being of a low-magic, gloomy setting. Furthermore, in regards to the color and black and white... The artwork is simply gorgeous, and I find the black and white works better than the color. Considering the settings title and premise -...

    Midnight-Is it worth it?

If it means much, Wil, I don't stack them up necessarily against the Wizard, which some might, but instead the Bard, which they more closely resemble. Even then, they don't quite hold up against one. The Bard has equal skill-points, equal hitdie, more spells per day after a few levels, armored...

What is your favorite D&D Class and why?

Cleric. A sense of faith, devotion and virtue - even if of an evil alignment - all have an appeal to me. The cleric comes the most easily-loaded with purpose, other than perhaps for the paladin, who comes in as my second pick, anyway. A lot of what I like about the cleric could be done with...

    Eberron - Extreme Explorer PrC

Dread is just as an appropriate response as anticipation. If there's something to look forward to, there's similarly something to dread.
