I started in on the A Song of Ice and Fire series. I had originally declared I wouldn't bother until he'd finished the whole series, but with the HBO show getting picked up I decided I might as well give it a go. So far it has lived up to the hype.

We took our son to see How to Train Your Dragon and loved it. Very well done. No fat on the movie at all, with great voice performances, excellent animation and a tight, engaging plot. My wife and I rented The Blind Side" the night before, and I found I liked HTYD much more.

Woah...I haven't looked into that movie for a while. Michael Chabon writing? Willem Dafoe, James Purefoy, Bryan Cranston, and Thomas Haden Church? Andrew Stanton directing? That is all very encouraging. :cool:

Well, at least they are pretty quick to put things out on DVD nowadays, so you shouldn't have to wait long if you go that route.

I believe it's mostly just to get little bits of stuff out of the way of the rock. You'd be amazed how much difference one little bit of debris will change the course of a rock.

Interesting. I'd never heard that before. I remember when it happened I was excited to see him come back, but then I found the books post Legacy fairly lackluster. I stopped at the Silent Blade (or whatever it was called). At this point I just try to convince myself that the Drizzt books ended...

Yeah I thought that end fight was rather rushed and Nicci went down rather easily for someone with so much power (supposedly).

I think I remember hearing about this from Felon back in that thread he mentions (though I don't recall what, if anything, I said about it back then). Right now it sounds really good to me, as I'm getting tired of moving six longboxes of comics whenever I move. I've gotten rid of several boxes...

Makes sense. I was afraid it just wasn't going to come out for some reason. Delayed due to writer's block is something I can understand. :p

And it was curable by being blasted in the head by red lightning? I mean, that's pretty clearly just another way for the writers to conveniently neuter Hiro's powers and then bring them back when they need them -- just like they've been doing since the show began. And it was ridiculous. Great...

Well I'm not sure if I'm really up for a discussion on it, and I think I've blocked much of the episode (and this season) from my memory, but here goes... Hiro's supposedly fatal illness is exceptionally vague in nature and has manifested in ridiculous ways (ie. the fanboy jargon he was stuck...

Oh okay. I went to his site and couldn't find any mention of it, but then again it seems he hasn't really posted anything since September anyway.

I think I'll have to avoid posting my opinion so as to not come across as a thread crapper. Suffice it to say, I wasn't a fan of that episode.

*sigh* I've known about that one for a while now. I've been trying to pretend it doesn't exist.
