    Cover question

So you're saying that there is a difference between these? I'm pretty sure they pose the exact same situation even though one runs along a wall and the other intersects corners.

    Question (Potential Breaking Combo)

Forced movement does ignore difficult terrain. From a logical stand point I agree with customer service, but for the sake of game balance I agree with Hyp. However, agreeing with hyp means that an elf could spend two move actions to run 18 squares in a blade barrier and still only take 3d6 +...

    Question (Potential Breaking Combo)

Response from customer service: QUESTION: Does a creature take damage from blade barrier for each space it moves into, or only once when it enters the blade barrier? (i.e. If you have a 5' wide hall way, cast blade barrier down it, and used a power to push a creature through it, would it take...

    Question (Potential Breaking Combo)

I was thinking that might be the case, and I totally agree, but I submitted the question to customer service just in case.

    Question (Potential Breaking Combo)

It's a good idea. I assume you are thinking that you could move the enemy around in the blade barrier until he died. However, blade barrier is not considered you hitting the target (because it doesn't have the "HIT" line), as Trick Strike requires. You could cast the Blade Barrier on the...

    Wire templates for AoE spells

I'm going to make a set of wire templates similar to the ones Steel Squire made for v3.5. However, the amount of material I need is way less than the minimum amount it is sold in, so I'll end up with several extra sets. If you were to receive a set as a gift, what sizes would you want? Most...

    Collected Core Handbook Errata

The term "extra damage" here refers to damage you roll after you score a critical hit. You do not roll the extra damage from magic weapons and implements, as well as high crit weapons until after scoring the critical hit. You roll the damage from hunter's quarry, sneak attack, etc. before...

    Collected Core Handbook Errata

It doesn't actually say that anywhere, your just interpreting it that way, because that's what the rule implies. However, the rule as written also implies that if you have multiple quarries, and hit them all with a single attack like Quarry’s Bane, you can apply the damage from Hunter's Quarry...

    Color coding for conditions?

Prone, unconscious and dying do not need a marker because they can easily be shown by lying a miniature on its side. Surprised almost always only lasts one round and is fairly easy to distinguish. Many conditions do little more than grant combat advantage and can probably all be denoted by the...

    Yet another Stealth post

That's a good house rule. Creatures (which includes PC's) who are not trained in Stealth, should have to use a standard action to use Stealth. Only creatures trained in stealth should be able to use it as part of another action as the rules state.

    Yet another Stealth post

That's a good idea, I'll have to try that one. I don't like the idea of "autostealth." You couldn't take 10 on hide and move silent checks in 3.5, and I don't think you're allowed to in 4E either. I do think the rogue should always have a chance of being noticed, but usually the rogue has a...

    Yet another Stealth post

I run my groups using a very similar method. Basically I give the players two options for Stealth checks: 1) If someone wants combat advantage against an enemy, and they begin their turn with partial cover (or better) against the enemy, then they can roll a stealth check which I compare to...

    Collected Core Handbook Errata

Question: Is each additional Quarry subject to the extra damage each round? IE: does only one Quarry take the damage, which is one reading of the rules on page 104, or does each Quarry that you attack that round take the extra damage? Customer service response: If you have multiple Quarries...
