Cover question

I have a small question about Cover/Superior Cover:

Code:
....#
.C..#
##..#
.#..#####
.#..M
##..#####
....#
C=Character
M=Monster
#=Wall

I'm not sure if the Monster has Cover or Superior Cover. I would have said he has normal Cover since the Character can see two Corners of the Monster, but that doesn't fit to the Line of Sight Picture (PHB 274) where he cannot see from a corner to the other when a wall passes it.

So which is it ... Cover or Superior Cover?

Normal cover.

Drawing lines from top-right of C to all corners of M, you get 2 lines blocked.

Note that Line of Sight and Cover follow slightly different rules. When determining LoS, the lines can't even touch a wall or run along it. When determining Cover, the lines they can run along a wall, but not intersect a corner.

In this case, the 2 clear lines you draw fall right on the corner of wall, not going through them.

When determining Cover, the lines they can run along a wall, but not intersect a corner.

So you're saying that there is a difference between these?

I'm pretty sure they pose the exact same situation even though one runs along a wall and the other intersects corners.

So you're saying that there is a difference between this:

Code:
.C.#
##.######
.#.......
.###M....
...#.....
and this:
Code:
.C#.....#M.
....###....
....###....

I'm pretty sure they pose the exact same situation even though one runs along a wall and the other intersects corners.
Both of those have no LOS for either. I doubt any ruleset would give LOS in either case.

Ok, perhaps this is a better example:

Blue has superior cover from red, but red only has cover from blue right?
