This. Very this. It's true that a lot of good DMs can deal with massive screw ups in their games. And if that makes you a good DM, more power to you. But good design prevents those massive screw ups from happening in the first place, and I've yet to see any reason not to cut this problem off...

That's not completely surprising -- there's some pretty extensive gore a few spots in the book. (These, naturally, coincidentally happen right after the healing staff gets its mojo working. For half the book, they get minor scrapes and cuts. Then they get a healing staff and suddenly faces...

Beast Wars (as well as Reboot, by the same studio) was pretty much rock-solid in terms of CG animation for its time. This? Not so much. And I've seen animated and computer art blend well, but only from Asian studios. Strange.
