    Triple Play [OOC]

I'm happy for any of them, I do intend to use them for home games starting in August - but I'll happily just follow these, should they continue to happen.

    Triple Play [OOC]

Vast majority of character complete, in my initial post above. Needs a little finishing off, but only minor bits.

    Triple Play [OOC]

Poison expert, Faceman looks to be the best way to apply poisons... Scientist is going to come in later to build up on the more book-knowledge aspects.

    Triple Play [OOC]

Name: Alexander Turner, CodeName: Veins, Origin: Adaptable Researcher, Class: Faceman. Character is new 1st level agent. Not finished yet so above may be changed but close enough. Days/TimesMost days on and off through the day, weekends a bit harder at current. As a GMT timezoner I may be...

    Triple Play [OOC]

Interested, I'm registered on the LSpy site but have no characters there. That said over the next couple of years I hope to try and get to some Con's so LSpy might be a possibility. As noted before I did start this run by Mexal, but didn't get very far before the game disintegrated - so if you...

    babsitters and gaming

We play with our 9 month old, we go on the assumption that she looks after her if I'm GMing, but otherwise, we tend to split to whoever's got the more background role at the time. We usually start around 5:30-6:00ish and she usually goes to bed 7:00-8:00, so it doesn't impact that much. As...

    No multiclassing penalties?

I used to give a bonus skill point as reward for taking a favoured class, the theory being it comes easier to you, so you have time to hone your skills. But the concept of favoured classes has faded from 'great idea, poorly executed' to 'meh, whatever' over the years. As a note the favoured...

    Non-random D&D Miniatures

I was going to suggest a similar thing to Henry, make a short tightly themed adventure - then you could support with packs marginally bigger than the standard boxes, probably breaking down to: 4 mooks (Orcs, Bugbears, Zombies, whatever) 2 Special NPC's (The evil Henchmen as it were) 1 Big Bad...

    How cool is reincarnation?

I quite like the 3.5 table, however I think I'd prefer to customise it by diety, with a bonus or penalty depending on how close the dieties of the caster and the reincarnated are. "You worship a god of death, very well, I'll ressurect you, but you return as a rat."

    Mixing Races....and why DM's shouldn't allow it

Depends on the Campaign, I did one where Orcs had no females, they were so aggressive because they needed females of other races to breed and continue their race. I had a setting where the world was utterly ancient, everything that could be done had been tried, some crazy mage has already...

    D20 Modern in 2007?

I thought it was pretty much decided by the masses that as far as WotC is concerned D20 Modern is dead... If we see anything else for it, it may be a couple of 1-off stand-alone releases sort of like what was done in the last days of Alternity. Single complete game books with no support implied...

    Fallout

If you read their message boards it seems they keep purging it of negative comments - which leads me to a lack of faith in this.

    Alternatives to level adjustment?

Start with a negative XP total, usually 1.5 x the amount required for the level of the LA adjustment, so an LA +1 creature starts on -1500xp, so by the time he gets to level 2, everyone else is near level 3, but due to the way Xp works (if you do give each character seperate xp for their level...

    Tomb Raider game

I ran such a game in Spycraft (though psuedo WWII Indiana Jones esque). Using the SC Chase system for trying to evade a boulder-trap was awesome... I'd probably either go Spycraft or Savage Worlds, depending on which group I'm playing with (SW for the group which have played 3rd edition once...

    Worst Possible Party Combinations

I'd say most groups can be used with a good core of players, but then we tend to play non-dungeon adventures. Perhaps it would've been better to state worst party combination for a dungeon crawl? In my games we've had all sorts of groups, most notable was no straight spellcasters, with the...

Call of Cthulhu D20 and D&D 3.5 compatibility

Call of Cthulu d20 is perfectly serviceable, especially for a short run game (I don't personally like the power levels for CoC at high level). It doesn't feel like AD&D any more than D&D3/.5 does, but it may bridge the gap a little if they're already used to Cthulu.

What's the point with Skill Tricks?

Didn't Alternity have something similar. though admitedly that didn't use feats at all.

Rules in 3.5 that need fixing and what you'd do to fix it.

I like the change in 3.5, it rewards those characters/players that research what they're facing, and removes the reliance on one particular weapon to exclusion of all others. However I do think they're overused, most monsters should be killable with a mundane sword, of course magic makes it...

    Dear Hasbro: about those minis

Personally I could live with random packs if they were more tightly themed. Say if "Deathknell" were actually just undead of various types, so I could buy 6 packs and be reasonably confident I'd get at least 6 skeleton-type things (I don't care whether they are skeleton swordsmen, axemen or...

    Wuxia core classes

As a quick note the Wuxia flight 'feat' in Dragon wasn't a feat at all - it was an ability granted to all 10th level characters.
