Question about Ghost-Touch armor and incorporeal beings

Oh yeah? cool. Thanks Ferret. btw, great nickname and avatar. I have two of the little fuzzheads myself. :)

Perhaps a slight change would work, rather than a blanket-halving. In my house rule, I state that they get the full bonus when they are *in* that terrain, fighting those creatures, however if the swamp ranger encountered a black dragon outside the marsh/swamp, his bonus would be halved. He still...

That's one of *my* house rules. :) It can be a little overpowered, but seeing as it's only in a specific terrain, if you're "deprived" of that terrain, it doesn't get used anyways.

Oh, I missed this one when I read through the first time. I've seen this method suggested on the other forum I hang out on. I'd say the only variation on this I would suggest is to allow the players a choice. They can roll, or take the average. Yes, more wizards and sorcerers will take the...

Maybe I'm thinking of platemail, rather than full-plate, but I thought it did have chainmail underneath to cover the weakpoints at the joints.

The one situation I can think of for saving up skill points is when dealing with cross-class skills. Since a half-rank has absolutely no effect at all, saving the skill point for later might be good, or not... it matters very little either way, really. Perhaps for a very intelligent fighter with...

I actually thought that rangers and paladins couldn't use wands and scrolls at all until they started to gain spells, since before they reach their spellcasting level, they are not considered to have a spellcaster level, and thus have no access to using scrolls and wands. Did I miss something...

Question about Ghost-Touch armor and incorporeal beings

I was experimenting with creating a Shadow character along with the Emancipated Spawn prestige class, and I have a question for the forum. An incorporeal character can wear ghost-touch armor, but do you think that this armor, if it includes gauntlets, would allow the character to manipulate...

Sorcerer Fix - Continued from "D&D Rules" (PART 4)

Yeah, I've never been satisfied with the core Sorcerer, right from its introduction in 3e, and the addition of Spell Swap in 3.5e wasn't much of a tweak. I went much more for the innate-ability sorcerer and pulled it back from the learned-magic, as you said. Oh, and I like your addition of...

Sorcerer Fix - Continued from "D&D Rules" (PART 4)

Hmph... I've been working on my own variant of the sorcerer, but nothing to this magnitude. I just gave them a form of natural Eschew Materials called "Blood Focus", that allows them to ignore spell components less than 100gp per level, and a different ability for scrolls called Transference...

How many of you would consider playing an older version of D&D?

That's the module I'm using for my group. :) It was funny seeing some of the reactions from people when I told them "By the rules, you roll 3d6, no rerolls, and you have to roll the stats in order, Str, Int, Wis, Dex, Con, Cha... it was over a forum thread, but I could just imagine their eyes...

How many of you would consider playing an older version of D&D?

I didn't like 2nd edition very much, but I'd play either 1st edition or Basic D&D. In fact, I'm starting a BD&D game on another forum very soon, and I'd love to get into a 1st edition game.

    Your First Gaming Book?

In 1977, I was 12, and it was the Dungeons & Dragons Basic Set, with the colour box and blue/white rulebook (I think the same one as others are mentioning here). I quickly went on to AD&D after that.
