For my campaign, I'm thinking about having something of a melee class like monk but more of a brawler. Aka I guess basically a monk without ki. Is there something out there already or is there a way to make it work? Opinion/help please :)

What I’m trying today do is like, the group is full of civilians that want to fight against an evil empire but they have no source of combat training and whatnot. So they will be trained in how to punch, use weapons and magic.

Looking for opinions, when it comes to multiclassing how overpower would the player be if they were allowed to, for story purposes, multiclass two classes for each level?

I was wondering if this would work. For except the player uses Shocking Grasp for an action and they are able to do melee attack as a bonus action. Could they use the spell again on the bonus action melee attack or would that not work?
