Wizard or Sorcerer Spells as an Extension of Personality

The best wizard I ever had the opportunity to play was named Xavier. He was a scholar from the school headed by the Simbul in Aglarond. An orphan by birth (not knowing he was the child of The Simbul) he broke out in the world in search of knowledge. He was big on the knowledges of Arcana...

Actually the RAW states that the diagonal rule only applies to movement not to attacks. You can find this information in the PHB, under the combat section. I would quote the pages but I don't have the book in front of me. Flight did not give you perfect maneuverability in 3.5E. If I am...

Epic Fight turns into Epic Farce

Last I checked a Natural 1 on a saving throw is not a failure in 3E. It as in 2nd but not in 3E. Now that does apply to attack rolls but the rule of 1 and the rule of 20 only apply to attack rolls in 3E. It is possible that your DM may run based on a harsher set of rules. I gather this is the...

A single crossbow bolt, longbow arrow, or even a short bow arrow would suffice in the scenario. Are we saying that the Wizard is as equall trained in the skills of martial arts as the fighter? If this is true does not the not make the Wizard as homogenous as the fighter. Thus stating they...

Define to me what you mean by "Not a viable option". Also please define to me how Fly as you and others have stated was not broken in 1e/2e but was in 3.x.

First I would like to thank you for joining in on this debate. I find 4E fans to be quite funny. I offer them a concept of something they could have done in 3E and they utterly tout it as impossible. Yet supposedly in the 4E system it is possible. I particarly liked "They cannot be thrown."...

*) Well, the rock part. Improvised weapon (-4 to penalty, range increment probably 2 squares10 feet . Throwing a PC? Didn't see rules for that, except maybe in Iron Heroes... Do tell me this pathetic damage thing? Last I checked a large sized creature could pick up what would be considered a...

You argument would lead me to believe that a short sword and a longsword are exactly the same only the difference is length.

No I am referring to an Ogre who can't pick up a rock and throw it at the wizard. Or for that matter throw another PC.

Is this anything like Gryphon, Gryffon, and Griffon from Everquest? Same model different mob?

Or possibly just a light crossbow or maybe a sling. Or for that matter a rock. Are you telling me that a mostly melee based fightter can't fight his way out of this wet paper bag?

SPEAR: A spear is a pole weapon used for hunting and war, consisting of a shaft, usually of wood, with a sharpened head. The head may be simply the sharpened end of the shaft itself, as is the case with bamboo spears, or it may be of another material fastened to the shaft, such as obsidian...

You know this sounds about as justified as stating that because at 5th level a Wizard can cast Fireball in 3.X it made any encounter vs. a cold based creature invalid. I think you are trying to validate your opinion with an extreme possiblity that is at best completely hypothetical in notion...

Iaijutsu is a good way of thinking. One could also consider the Ninja who in some cases used a Katana which by D&D standards is a bastard sword. And in single attack would kill a target.

I think your point here of stating "untruth" lacks the understanding that what was stated is based on opinion. Since opinions in essence are neither true or false. By the poster's opinion it is in his feeling that they are homegenous in design and play. Stating that it is untrue is akin to...
